Rex Ryan vs. Jets at MetLife in Week 1 would fit Bill for NFL

This should be a layup when the NFL announces the 2015 schedule this week: Rex Ryan at the Jets in the season opener at MetLife Stadium on Sept. 13. Why not start off with a little drama and trash talking? The old Rex disappeared for two years during the disastrous John Idzik regime, but the big-time bluster is back. Ryan has a new audience and Buffalo is starved for a winner — the Bills haven’t made the playoffs since 1999, the longest streak in the league — and the organization has embraced him as the face of the franchise. Ryan held things in for two years as Idzik destroyed the roster and gave him no chance to win. He never was publicly critical of Idzik, but was pretty transparent last week in Sports Illustrated, without mentioning Idzik’s name, about getting hung out to dry in his final years with the Jets.
