The Pulwama terror attack which took place on February 14 in the Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir, shocked the entire nation as it claimed the lives of nearly 44 CRPF jawans. Today the All India Cine Workers Association announced a blanket ban on Pakistani artistes working in Bollywood . According to a report in Pinkvilla, after hearing this news Salman Khan immediately asked his production house to replace Atif Aslam , who was roped in to sing a song in ‘Notebook’. While there’s no official announcement made by anyone associated with the film, the report even suggested that the song will again be recorded with a new singer. The statement released by AICWA read as “All India Cine Workers strongly condemns the brutal terrorist attack on our soldiers at Pulwama district in Jammu and Kashmir. Our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, AICWA stands with the nation in confronting such terror and inhumanity. We’re officially announcing a total ban on Pakistani Actors and Artists working in Film Industry. Still, if any organisation insist on working with Pakistani Artists will be banned by AICWA and strong action will be taken against them. Nation comes first, we stand with our nation.” Meanwhile, Salman’s ‘Notebook’ will mark the debut of Pranutan Bahl and Zaheer Iqbal in Bollywood.
