SELECTION PANEL HUNT by Cricbuzz Staff • Published on ShareTweet Venkatesh Prasad (r) has previously served with the Junior Selection Committee. © BCCI Laxman Sivaramakrishnan, Venkatesh Prasad, Sunil Joshi, Harvinder Singh and Rajesh Chauhan have been shortlisted to interview with the Cricket Advisory Committee for the two remaining vacant slots on the senior men’s national selection committee. The CAC – which includes Madan Lal, RP Singh and Sulakshana Naik – shortlisted the five candidates from 40 applicants which included the likes of Ajit Agarkar, Chetan Sharma and Nayan Mongia. The chosen candidates will replace MSK Prasad and Gagan Khoda from the panel. Sivaramakrishnan played nine Tests and 16 ODIs for India while Prasad featured in 33 Tests and 161 ODIs. Harvinder, the former India pacer, played three Tests and 16 ODIs and is the least experienced of the lot. Prasad has worked with the Indian side as a bowling coach before and has also served as a selector on the junior committee, while his former Karnataka teammate, Sunil Joshi, has worked with Bangladesh, USA and a few Ranji Trophy sides.
