Alabama transfer Jaden Shackelford reportedly down to three schools but still considering Crimson Tide return

Former Alabama guard Jaden Shackelford is weighing a possible transfer prior to the 2021-22 season. On Friday morning, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reported that Shackelford had narrowed down his list of potential destinations. According to Rothstein, Shackelford is currently considering Ohio State, Oklahoma and Texas Tech. However, the former Crimson Tide star has not completely ruled out a return to the program for the upcoming season. For a while, there was a possibility that Shackelford wouldn't play college basketball at all in the 2021-22 season. Following Alabama's NCAA Tournament run in March, Shackelford entered the 2021 NBA Draft process but didn't take an agent. That meant he could still return to the college level, which he ultimately did . Shackelford will be a junior this upcoming season and led the Crimson Tide in scoring as a sophomore in 2020-21 with 14.0 points per game across 33 appearances (32 starts). The Hesperia, California, native shot 41% from the field and 34% from the 3-point line this past season and tallied 125 rebounds, 65 assists and 28 steals during the Sweet 16 run.
