UAE T20 LEAGUE by Vijay Tagore • Last updated on Share Tweet The Knight Riders have three teams across the world already © Getty Kolkata Knight Riders and Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) have announced their formal partnership about the acquisition of a franchise in the UAE’s upcoming T20 league and it will be based in Abu Dhabi. A KKR official has also confirmed that it will be named Abu Dhabi Knight Riders, in line with their other teams. “UAE’s T20 League is delighted to announce that the Knight Riders Group has acquired the rights to own and operate the Abu Dhabi franchise and will set up Abu Dhabi Knight Riders (ADKR) as an integral part of the UAE’s flagship T20 league,” the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) said in a statement. The formal agreement was signed recently. With this announcement, all six franchises are on board for the six-team league which is expected to be played early next year.
