Motorcyclist dies after Interstate 35 collision in Schertz
By Jacob Beltran Published 6:08 pm CST, Monday, February 18, 2019 A motorcyclist died shortly after crashing Sunday afternoon on Interstate 35 North in Schertz. Zachary Ryan Hartley, 22, was pronounced dead at 2:41 p.m., according to the Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office. Schertz police said they were called for an accident involving a motorcycle at 2:06 p.m. on I-35 just north of FM 2252, where Hartley was found unconscious in the median between the highway and the access road. RELATED: $5K reward for info on man found dead at area lake The driver of an 18-wheeler who was behind the motorcycle provided police with dash cam video of the crash. Investigators said the footage shows Hartley driving erratically then striking a vehicle. The impact threw him off the motorcycle and into the median where he was found. Hartley was transported to the San Antonio Military Medical Center where he died, police said.
