IPL 2021: MI vs SRH: Toss report: Mumbai Indians to bat, make one change, Sunrisers make four changes

· April 17, 2021 ·

Mumbai will be eager to register their second win while SRH under David Warner will be eyeing their maiden win of IPL 2021. Rohit said at the toss: "We are going to bat first. It is very hard to predict, looks a good track but we will only get to know as the game progresses. It looks a bit sluggish though. We have made one change. Adam Milne comes in place of Jansen. We understand the conditions and it's very important to back your skills. Last game was good for us." Warner told host broadcaster: "We would've batted first for sure. All four wickets look exactly the same here. We know what we are gonna do here. We have been in this position before, we have made four changes. I can't remember the names, gotta look at the team-sheet." Playing 11s: Sunrisers Hyderabad: David Warner (c), Jonny Bairstow (wk), Manish Pandey, Virat Singh (in for Wriddhiman Saha), Vijay Shankar, Abhishek Sharma (in for Shahbaz Nadeem), Abdul Samad, Rashid Khan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mujeeb Ur Rahman … [Read more...] about IPL 2021: MI vs SRH: Toss report: Mumbai Indians to bat, make one change, Sunrisers make four changes

IPL 2021: MI vs SRH: Kieron Pollard: It’s good we won after a scrap, our confidence is up

· April 18, 2021 ·

It was not the familiar Pollard blitz of the death overs. The sluggish nature of the Chepauk pitch forced him to curb his big-hitting tendencies and there was a slice of fortune for him too. Vijay Shankar dropped Pollard off Khaleel Ahmed when the Trinidadian was on 18, and Pollard made Hyderabad pay for that error. After 19.4 overs, Mumbai score read 138 for 5 but Pollard hammered Bhuvneshwar Kumar for two sixes off the fifth and sixth ball of the 20th over to take his team to 150. Pollard remained not out on 35 off 22 balls. In the end calculations that knock made a huge difference. Pollard also bowled two parsimonious overs for just 10 overs that eased pressure on Mumbai's main bowlers in the middle overs, also helping MI to compensate for the expensiveness of Adam Milne and Krunal Pandya. But Pollard said his job is to support the frontline bowlers. "When it's coming out nicely you want to bowl another over, but what the team needs at the moment is you... but we need the main … [Read more...] about IPL 2021: MI vs SRH: Kieron Pollard: It’s good we won after a scrap, our confidence is up

IPL 2021 Match Report, MI vs SRH: Rahul Chahar, Trent Boult Guide Mumbai Indians to 13-Run Win Over Sunrisers Hyderabad

· April 18, 2021 ·

Sunrisers Hyderabad’s middle-order continued to misfire as spinner Rahul Chahar and pacer Trent Boult fashioned Mumbai Indians to a 13-run win in their IPL match at Chepauk on Saturday. Defending 150 on a tricky surface, leg-spinner Chahar – 3/19 – stifled the middle-order before Boult – 3/28 – polished off the tail as SRH were bowled out for 137 in 19.4 overs. Opting to bat, MI had a good start but Vijay Shankar and Mujeeb Ur Rahman claimed two wickets each as SRH stemmed the flow of runs in the middle overs. SCORECARD However, Kieron Pollard managed to lift MI to 150 for 5 with the help of a 22-ball 35 which included two sixes of the last two balls of their innings. Chasing 151 for a win, Jonny Bairstow smashed a 22-ball 43 to give SRH a rollicking start, while David Warner too managed 36 off 34 balls but once the duo were back in the hut, the middle-order again failed to come to the fore. MATCH HIGHLIGHTS Back at the top with his opening partner Warner, Bairstow amassed 18 … [Read more...] about IPL 2021 Match Report, MI vs SRH: Rahul Chahar, Trent Boult Guide Mumbai Indians to 13-Run Win Over Sunrisers Hyderabad

IPL 2021: MI vs SRH: Match report: Kieron Pollard, Rahul Chahar, Trent Boult shine for Mumbai Indians

· April 18, 2021 ·

Quinton de Kock and Rohit Sharma played knocks of 40 and 32, but SRH managed to maintain a stranglehold as Mumbai Indians were restricted to 150/5. In response, SRH were bundled out for 137 despite a flying start given by Jonny Bairstow. IPL SPECIAL PAGE | MI VS SRH SCOREBOARD SRH needed 47 runs in the last five overs and Vijay Shankar whacked back-to-back sixes in Krunal Pandya's third over to reduce the gap. But SRH was again put on the back foot when they lost two wickets in the 18th over and the team's hopes were finally down when Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Shankar with 17 required off seven balls. SRH collapsed from 129/5 to 137 in nine balls as Boult and Bumrah denied the batsmen any chance of slogging in the death overs. Chasing 151, SRH had a decent start but opening batsman Bairstow took the charge and smashed 18 runs in the third over. The English batsman didn't stop and continued his onslaught as he whacked two consecutive six in the fourth. While David Warner … [Read more...] about IPL 2021: MI vs SRH: Match report: Kieron Pollard, Rahul Chahar, Trent Boult shine for Mumbai Indians
