Can you imagine the league's most dynamic wide receiver playing for the league's most explosive offense? by Ryan Wilson @ryanwilsonCBS 1m ago • 2 min read Odell Beckham Jr. said and did all the right things this offseason as he waited for a new contract. That contract came in late August in the form of a five-year extension worth up to $95 million. But there was a point back in the spring where Beckham's return to the Giants was less certain. In fact, there was speculation that the Rams might try to swing a trade for the 2014 first-round pick, which would've made the league's only undefeated team somehow more explosive. It didn't happen, of course, and Beckham has had a first-row seat to the Giants' slow-motion train wreck that has been the 2018 season. Earlier this month, Beckham told ESPN's Josina Anderson that he "didn't know" if the Giants had a quarterback issue, and when asked if he was happy in New York, called it "a tough question." … [Read more...] about Odell Beckham says he has no regrets about signing with Giants after Rams reportedly wanted him

GLENDALE, Ariz. – Four straight visits here have resulted in baffling losses for the 49ers. Here are five ways the 49ers (1-6) can make Sunday’s trip different against the host Arizona Cardinals (1-6): 1. Pocket presence: Coach Kyle Shanahan, after a 28-18 home loss to the Cardinals three weeks ago, noted that C.J. Beathard needed to know his surroundings better as he shuffles in the pocket. Specifically, Cardinals pass rusher Chandler Jones was a pest last game, producing a strip sack as Beathard overall produced two fumbles and had two interceptions. “He needs to realize that when you’re going against a guy who is almost an alien with how long his arms are, you’ve got to step up even more than you did,” Shanahan said Oct. 8. Jones has a 35 1/2-inch arm length, and Beathard said of him this past week: “Definitely more aware of him, and his range, his length and the kind of player he is. Definitely more aware of him.” 2. Communicate … [Read more...] about Five 49ers keys to winning at Cardinals for first time since 2013
It feels a very long time ago, but one year ago it was Deshaun Watson, not Patrick Mahomes, who was being heralded as the world-beating star quarterback of the 2017 draft class. The league may belong to Mahomes in 2018, but Watson went some way to reminding us why we all fell in love with him on Thursday night, as he threw five touchdown passes and just four incompletions in the Houston Texans' 42-23 dismantling of the Brock Osweiler-led Miami Dolphins. It means the Texans have now won five on the bounce after starting 0-3, and have control of the AFC South heading into the weekend. But as we know, a lot can change on an NFL Sunday. This week we have the final London game of the season, as the Eagles and Jags battle it out at Wembley in the afternoon, before we throw ourselves into NFL RedZone in the evening (one hour earlier than usual remember - the clocks go back!) With ten games to look forward to, here's what you should keep an eye on this week. Five games to dial in on … [Read more...] about NFL RedZone companion, week eight: Aaron Rodgers takes on the Rams and the Seahawks fancy an upset

Not only is the team expected to lose on the road against the Los Angeles Rams, but the game won’t be particularly close if the betting odds are any indication.L.A. is favored by nine points Sunday afternoon, according to OddsShark. Aaron Rodgers has never been this big of an underdog in his career as Green Bay’s starting quarterback. It might be hard to believe that Rodgers and the Packers could be getting so many points against any opponent, but the point spread makes plenty of sense when examining how each team has played this season. The Rams have been the NFL’s best team in 2018. That’s not in dispute.
