TRI-NATION SERIES, 2021 by Bertus de Jong • Last updated on Share Tweet Nepal skipper Gyanendra Malla sealed the chase with a six © Getty On their international return after a hiatus of well over a year, hosts Nepal opened their Tri-Nations Series campaign with an utterly dominant display , romping to a nine-wicket victory over pre-tournament favourites the Netherlands, handing the Dutch their heaviest defeat batting first since their humiliation against Sri Lanka at the 2014 World T20 , to the delight of a capacity home crowd. A disciplined bowling effort saw Nepal hold the Dutch to 136-4, before young openers Kushal Bhurtel and Aasif Sheikh, both on international debut, combined for Nepal's highest-ever opening stand in T20Is to put the game to bed. Bhurtel survived an early scare as he was caught off Vivian Kingma in the first over without having scored a run, only to be reprieved as the umpire judged Kingma to … [Read more...] about Nepal ambush Netherlands in tournament opener

Austin Dillon troubled no more at Richmond

· April 17, 2021 ·

Once upon a time, Richmond Raceway felt like a puzzle Austin Dillon would never solve. His first nine Cup starts at the 3/4-mile short track yielded no finishes better than 13th. “I sucked there at the beginning of my career,” Dillon said this week in a media teleconference. “I dreaded going there. I said I wished Richmond would just not be a track anymore.” But while he’s still seeking his first win at Richmond, the puzzle pieces are starting to fit. In last September’s Cup Series playoff race at Richmond , Dillon recovered from a pit road speeding penalty and missing pit entrance prior to another stop to finish fourth. The outing was critical in Dillon advancing into the Round of 12. It was also Dillon’s third finish of sixth or better in his last four Richmond races. And as he returns there Sunday (3 p.m. ET on Fox), his past worries are gone. “We really looked at everything we did last year and didn’t change a whole lot,” he said. “But we went back over some things in … [Read more...] about Austin Dillon troubled no more at Richmond

Jadeveon Clowney excited to play with Myles Garrett

· April 14, 2021 ·

The Cleveland Browns defensive line got a whole lot scarier on Wednesday after agreeing to a one-year, $10 million contract with defensive end Jadeveon Clowney . The 28-year-old pass rusher is set to enter his eighth NFL season with his fourth different team. Last season, in eight games with the Tennessee Titans, Clowney recorded 19 tackles, four tackles for loss, six quarterback hits, four pass breakups, and one forced fumble. Clowney did not record a sack before he was placed on the injured reserve in November due to a knee injury. During his introductory Zoom press conference on Wednesday afternoon with the Browns, Clowney talked about getting to play on the same defensive line as 2020 All-Pro defensive end Myles Garrett . Clowney is happy that Garrett will likely take the double-team off of him, something he has dealt with in years past. “I’m looking forward to playing with somebody dominant on the opposite side like Myles Garrett ,” Clowney said. “Maybe I can … [Read more...] about Jadeveon Clowney excited to play with Myles Garrett
