ICC VS AFGHANISTAN by Vijay Tagore • Last updated on Share Tweet Mohammad Nabi added fuel to the fire by daring Australia to boycott them in the World Cup © Getty The pressure is mounting on Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) and it could culminate with some serious action, if not necessarily suspension, from the International Cricket Council (ICC). The Cricket Australia (CA) decision to pull out from a three-match ODI series, a part of the ICC ODI Super League, has made things serious for the Afghan Cricket Board (ACB) despite the outrage expressed by Rashid Khan and the ACB. Mohammad Nabi added fuel to the fire by daring Australia to boycott them in the World Cup. "It is not right to mix politics with sports. The same regime was there during the World Cup and why did they play us? Because they wanted two points. They wanted a good NRR to progress in the World Cup. What will they do in the World Cup in India? We will see if … [Read more...] about ICC takes serious view of ACB’s failure to raise a women’s team

January 15, 2023 by www.cricketcountry.com Leave a Comment

Cape Town: After a clinical seven-wicket win over Joburg Super Kings in a SA20 match, MI Cape Town captain Rashid Khan said that his team has the best bowling unit in the tournament, which makes his job easier. Chasing a below-par target of 106, MI CT cruised home inside 16.3 overs in their third league game on Saturday night. With this, MI CT picked up four crucial points and jumped to the top of the table with 9 points. After their bowlers put up a disciplined show, openers Dewald Brevis (42) and Ryan Rickleton (21) shared a stand of 65 to lay the foundation of a big win for their team and the remaining batters then made quick work of the run chase. Brevis’ no-look 99-meter six against Aaron Phangiso was the highlight of MI CT’s run chase. MI CT assessed the pitch to perfection and included spinner Waqar Salamkheil in the playing eleven. Salamkheil (1/19) made an instant impact as he controlled the game brilliantly in the middle overs along with captain Rashid (2/18). “Rohit Sharma Should Be Kicking Himself”: Gautam Gambhir On India Captain’s Long Century Drought | Cricket News

January 16, 2023 by sports.ndtv.com Leave a Comment

India captain Rohit Sharma was dismissed on 42 in the third and final ODI against Sri Lanka in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday. The 35-year-old has now gone 50 innings without scoring a century in international cricket. Now, former India batter Gautam Gambhir has raised concerns over his long-century drought. Gambhir, while speaking on Star Sports, feels Rohit must be kicking himself, and compared his situation to that of star batter Virat Kohli , who had failed to register a ton for more than three years. "We should talk in the same phase. Virat Kohli didn't get a hundred for three and a half years. I think Rohit should be kicking himself. It will be equally hard on Rohit Sharma as well. 50 innings are a lot, it's not like he didn't get a hundred in one or two games. If you look at the last (ODI) World Cup, one thing is missing from his game and it's the ability to get those hundreds," Gambhir said during the mid innings show. Despite suggesting that Rohit has been playing … [Read more...] about “Rohit Sharma Should Be Kicking Himself”: Gautam Gambhir On India Captain’s Long Century Drought | Cricket News

“Grow Up…”: Pakistan Batter Shuts Down Journalist Trolling Virat Kohli With Great Logic | Cricket News

January 18, 2023 by sports.ndtv.com Leave a Comment

Virat Kohli has clearly regained his golden touch. In the last three matches that he played ahead of the ODI series against New Zealand, the former India skipper scored two tons. Kohli now has 76 tons in international cricket - 27 in Tests, 46 in ODIs and 1 in T20Is. He is currently only behind Sachin Tendulkar (100 tons) in the list of batters with most centuries. However, till a few months ago Kohli was struggling after having not scored a ton in over two years. With reference to this point, a Pakistan journalist tried to troll Kohli saying that he performs "when there's no pressure." However, he faced a strong rebuttal from Pakistan middle-order batter Sohaib Maqsood , a veteran of 29 ODI and 26 T20Is. "Virat Kohli is at his best when there's no pressure, series not on the line and conditions great for batting. There's no harm in gaining confidence and form in such matches, India need him to perform well in Test cricket with Australia coming over too tho," the … [Read more...] about “Grow Up…”: Pakistan Batter Shuts Down Journalist Trolling Virat Kohli With Great Logic | Cricket News

“I Asked For 71st Century But…”: Virat Kohli Fan’s Post On ‘Special Day’ Goes Viral | Cricket News

January 18, 2023 by sports.ndtv.com Leave a Comment

One of the greatest batters of all time, Virat Kohli truly seems to have returned to his best, having slammed his 3rd ODI ton in 4 matches, as India secured a 'record' 317-run victory over Sri Lanka in Trivandrum. As fans went gaga seeing Kohli's unbeaten 166-run knock in the 3rd ODI, an ardent fan of his took to Twitter to share that he was getting married the same day the former India skipper scored his 74th international century for India on Sunday. The same fan, while attending one of India's matches in the stadium, was earlier spotted with a banner saying he won't get married until Virat scores his 71st international ton. Kohli had famously gone without reaching the triple-digit score for nearly 3 years. However, since ending the drought in the Asia Cup against Afghanistan last year, the 33-year-old has looked as if he has regained his prime form. After Kohli scored his 74th international ton, the fan took to Twitter again and wrote: "I asked for the 71st century but … [Read more...] about “I Asked For 71st Century But…”: Virat Kohli Fan’s Post On ‘Special Day’ Goes Viral | Cricket News

Farooqi, who was fired Friday by his Big Bash League side Sydney Thunder following an "incident" last month, bowled a bizaare no-ball, which flew over the keeper's head, before hitting the boundary rope. As Farooqi, who is plying his trade for MI Emirates, was about to bowl the delivery, the ball slipped out of his hand, resulting in five extra runs for Abu Dhabi Knight Riders.
