MANCHESTER UNITED'S crocked stars arrived at training this morning as they race to get fit for this weekend's clash with Chelsea. England trio Jesse Lingard, Luke Shaw and Phil Jones were among the stars that missed out on international duty due to injury. The 25-year-old, who rocked up to Carrington in his blacked-out Bentley, has not scored or made an assist in five appearances this season. Shaw is expected to ease himself back into training slowly after he was forced to miss England's Nations League games because of an ongoing thigh injury. But the defender, 23, is reportedly on the verge of signing a new five-year deal following his superb start to the season. Experienced defender Jones was also left at home by Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate due to injury. Chris Smalling was left out of the England squad again, but the defender is … [Read more...] about England’s crocked stars including Jesse Lingard and Luke Shaw head into Manchester United training for treatment in race for weekend fitness

Former sporting director Fernando Hierro was named as Spain's interim coach several hours after Lopetegui was sacked one day before the World Cup began, with the 2010 winners later suffering a shock exit to hosts Russia in the last 16. "When I sacked Julen I immediately called Hierro and told him I didn't want to make any changes. Two days later a letter arrived from Newcastle saying 'Are you interested in our coach? He's at your disposition.' We said thanks but no," Rubiales told Spanish radio station Cadena COPE on Tuesday. "We would have never done that, we couldn't hire Benitez because it would have been acting in the same way for which we reproached Julen." Lopetegui was sacked for announcing he had agreed … [Read more...] about Benitez offered to Spain by Newcastle as World Cup coach
