Getty Images The man who accused Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald of assault is now apologizing to Donald, saying he was mistaken about who injured him in a fight early Sunday morning. The accuser, DeVincent Spriggs, suffered injuries in the fight and originally claimed Donald attacked him. But security camera footage did not show that , and Spriggs now says he was wrong about who hit him in the fight. “I wanted to make this statement public. And to extend an apology to Aaron for what he’s gone through, but I clearly know this was not him,” Spriggs’ attorney, Todd Hollis, said in a statement to KDKA. Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the union won’t be pushing teams that have a significant number of players with workout bonuses to join in the effort. The source specifically mentioned the Packers and Bills. Via OverTheCap.com , the Bills have 28 players with workout bonuses totaling $3.172 million. The Packers have 19 players with workout bonuses, but the total value (the highest in the league) is $5.065 million. The Jaguars (24 players, $3.725 million) and the Chiefs (25 million, $3.053 million) also have either more than 15 players or more than $2 million in total workout bonuses. The government has announced a further £50m in emergency funding for sport in the latest tranche of its 'Winter Survival Package' to cope with the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic. Horse racing, rugby league, speedway and drag racing will receive £40m, while non-League football clubs in National League steps 1-6 will benefit from an additional £10m in funding. As part of the announcement, Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden said: "We promised to stand by and protect our major spectator sports when we had to postpone fans returning. "Through our Sport Survival Package and existing business support schemes, we have helped hundreds of clubs to survive this difficult winter period.
