Welcome to the Thursday edition of the Pick Six newsletter! With Memorial Day right around the corner, I thought for sure that we were about to hit the slow part of the NFL offseason, but if I've learned one thing this week, it's that there's no such thing as the "slow part" of the NFL offseason. Over the past 24 hours alone, we've seen Colin Kaepernick get an NFL workout for the first time in five years, we've seen Jon Gruden score some major legal wins against the NFL and we've seen 31 of the 32 owners forced into paying out a total of $232.5 million to help out Stan Kroenke. I'm guessing they weren't happy about that. We'll be touching on all of those things and more in today's newsletter, so let's get to the rundown. As always, here's your weekly reminder to tell all your friends to sign up for the newsletter. All you have to do is click here and then share the link . 1. Today's show: AFC South win totals For the rest of this week, there's going to be a … [Read more...] about Why Colin Kaepernick could be a good fit for Raiders, plus NFL owners forced to fork over $232.5 million

ROME (AP) — Marcell Jacobs already won another gold medal at the world indoors. He’ll likely get a huge reception at Rome’s upcoming Diamond League meet. Then a reunion with his once-estranged father at the world championships. Followed by more potential medals at the European championships. And, to top it all off, a wedding in September. If last year — when Jacobs sprinted from virtual unknown to Olympic 100m champion and then added another surprising gold at the Tokyo Games with Italy’s 4x100m relay team — proved remarkable for the Texas-born runner, 2022 could be even more memorable. For all those who thought Jacobs was just a one-hit wonder — and there were plenty of naysayers — the Italian has other plans. “Winning these next two big events would mean winning everything there is to win in athletics,” Jacobs told The Associated Press in an interview at his Rome training base this week. “But I’ve got a huge target on my back wherever I go now — everyone wants to beat me. … [Read more...] about Marcell Jacobs’ Olympic gold to be followed by first race in front of father
RR VS RCB by Bharath Ramaraj • Last updated on Share Tweet Can RCB fly into the final of IPL 2022? © BCCI When Rajat Patidar walked out to bat with a confident gait against Lucknow Super Giants, Royal Challengers Bangalore had just lost Faf du Plessis to Mohsin Khan's brilliance. Mohsin also straightaway troubled Patidar by beating him on the edge. In the very next over, Patidar stood tall and punched one past point off Dushmantha Chameera. From there on, Rajat didn't look back. Almost every single time he cracked a shot, there was unbridled celebration among the fans. Patidar remained unbeaten 112 to lay the platform while Harshal Patel held his nerve in the slog overs to power RCB to a defining win in the Eliminator. Perhaps RCB can now dream of winning some silverware? They certainly have some momentum going into the Qualifier 2 against Rajasthan Royals. They also seem to have a bit of rub of the green going their way … [Read more...] about Galloping RCB train eyes on summit clash
BAN V SL, 2022 by Cricbuzz Staff • Published on Share Tweet Sri Lanka reduced Bangladesh to 34 for 4 © AFP Bangladesh find themselves staring down the barrel on a day dominated by the Lankans through and through at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. A couple of wicketless sessions and then another top-order collapse with the bat has now meant that the onus has fallen back on Mushfiqur Rahim and Litton Das to bat out of their skins to save this Test, and thereby the series. The start of the third session brought some respite for the hosts with Dinesh Chandimal smashing a pretty full Ebadot Hossain delivery straight to extra cover, to end a 199-run stand with Angelo Mathews. The tail didn't wag long either, with the last four wickets falling for a mere 24 runs, leaving Mathews stranded at the other end. Nevertheless, the damage was done, with a massive 141-run lead in their kitty. Shakib Al Hasan was the only … [Read more...] about Bangladesh stutter after SL take big lead
Getty Images After two of their most putrid offensive showings of the season, the Miami Heat are facing elimination on the road. Jimmy Butler shot 7 for 32 in Games 4 and 5 of the Eastern Conference finals, and the duo of Kyle Lowry and Max Strus shot a combined 1 for 28. Butler is playing through knee inflammation, Lowry is playing through a hamstring injury and Sixth Man of the Year Tyler Herro has not been playing because of a groin injury. Are the Heat cooked? I'll get to that. First, I'd like to talk about Boston Celtics guard Derrick White . In Boston's 93-80 win on Wednesday, White scored 14 points on 6-for-8 shooting, with five assists, two steals and a block in 29 helpful minutes. Al Horford said he was "unbelievable." Jaylen Brown went with "fantastic" and "essential." White, acquired at the trade deadline from the Spurs in February, is an overqualified bench player, the kind of guy who can swing a game or a series. White started in place of … [Read more...] about Celtics vs. Heat: Boston is one win away from NBA Finals, so has the team solved Miami?
