Three former Kentucky players have been named to the NBA Rising Stars roster, it was announced by the league Wednesday. Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro and San Antonio Spurs guard Keldon Johnson were each named to the United States Team while Golden State Warriors guard and Windsor, Ontario, Canada native Mychal Mulder was named to the World Team. It's the second straight selection for Herro. UK led all schools with three selections. NBA Rising Stars, the league’s annual showcase of premier young talent during NBA All-Star, will not be played this year due to the limitation of having All-Star events all on one night. To recognize deserving players, the NBA kept the custom of having the league’s assistant coaches vote for Rising Stars rosters, which comprise 10 first and second-year NBA players from the United States (U.S. Team) and 10 first- and second-year NBA players from outside the United States (World Team). Former Wildcats Devin Booker (Phoenix Suns), Anthony … [Read more...] about Three Wildcats named to NBA Rising Stars roster

I just see the ball and react, that’s my USP: Rishabh Pant
ENGLAND'S TOUR OF INDIA, 2021 by Cricbuzz Staff • Last updated on Share Tweet Pant scored his maiden Test hundred at home. © BCCI Shot-making isn't new to Rishabh Pant but the risks have paid far greater dividends in recent times for the 23-year-old. Fresh off scores of 97 in Sydney and a match-winning 89 not out in Brisbane, Pant has carried that form to India and now has his first Test hundred on home soil, also his third overall in the format. "I like to play according to the situation. I just see the ball and react to it; that's the USP of my cricket. That's what I think," Pant told the host broadcasters after his 101 on Day 2 of the fourth Test in Ahmedabad. "I like to play my cricket and make my team win. If the crowd is getting entertained, I am happy to do that." Pant came at a time when India were in danger of conceding a first-innings lead to England. Coming in to bat after Virat Kohli was out on nought, … [Read more...] about I just see the ball and react, that’s my USP: Rishabh Pant
Pant’s maiden home century sets up India’s lead
ENGLAND'S TOUR OF INDIA, 2021 by Cricbuzz Staff • Last updated on Share Tweet Pant scored his third Test century, and first at home. © BCCI Here at the bare stats - India 294 for 7 and lead by 89. Rishabh Pant made 101 and had plenty of support from Washinton Sundar (60 not out) as the pair made 113 for the seventh wicket. A glance at the scorecard will make you feel India dominated the second day in Ahmedabad. That, however, wasn't the case. India had complete control of proceedings only in the third session and spent the first two trying to find answers to the challenges thrown at them by James Anderson, Ben Stokes and Jack Leach. There were plenty of mini-battles that could have swung the game decisively. Leach against Cheteshwar Pujara, Stokes against Rohit Sharma, Anderson against Ajinkya Rahane were some of the sub-plots of the day that you won't find in the scorecard. India started the day on 24 for 1 and were … [Read more...] about Pant’s maiden home century sets up India’s lead
India vs England: Can Virat Kohli duck under the lean patch soon?
And if you take it in an individual context too, the Kohli vs Anderson contest offered restricted view in this four-match series. Until India's first innings in the fourth Test, Kohli has faced 52 balls from Anderson and scored 11 runs without getting dismissed and in that 37 balls were bowled to him in the first Test at Chennai. Kohli has faced fewer deliveries from Anderson only in that traumatic 2014 away series - 50 balls for 19 runs and was jettisoned 4 times. Against Anderson in 2012, Kohli negated 81 balls (made 23 runs), 112 balls in 2016 (home, made 69 runs) and 270 balls (and made 114 runs) in 2018 (away). The difference in 2021 is that Kohli never lasted long enough to have a duel with Anderson apart from those two innings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium and it is not entirely Anderson's doing either. The series offered a microcosm of the travails of Kohli since that double hundred against Bangladesh in late 2019. The Indian captain has not scored an international hundred … [Read more...] about India vs England: Can Virat Kohli duck under the lean patch soon?
New Zealand vs Australia, 4th T20I: Finch-inspired visitors set up series decider
Finch's 79 not out off 55 balls helped lay the foundations for a 50-run triumph, with Australia posting 156-6 in Wellington before bowling out the Black Caps for just 106. It means the series is now level at 2-2, with Australia having come from two down, and will be settled in the final match on Sunday (March 7). 1 49343 Tim Southee was furious after Finch was given not out on umpire's call following an lbw review in the first over, with his reaction resulting in a formal reprimand for a Level 1 breach of the ICC Code of Conduct. Tim Southee reprimanded for showing dissent at umpire's decision The fast bowler might have been even more angry had he known the damage Finch would go on to do, the skipper accounting for over half of his side's total to become his country's leading scorer in the format on 2,310 runs. Finch smashed four sixes off the final over, that explosive spell alone giving him more runs than any of his team-mates, with Marcus Stoinis' 19 the next-best … [Read more...] about New Zealand vs Australia, 4th T20I: Finch-inspired visitors set up series decider
