Pakistan women double their lead in another low-scorer

May 26, 2022 by www.cricbuzz.com Leave a Comment

SRI LANKA WOMEN TOUR OF PAKISTAN by Cricbuzz Staff • Published on Share Tweet Ayesha Naseem top-scored for Pakistan with 45 © Getty An allround bowling effort from Pakistan downed Sri Lanka in a second-successive low-scorer in Karachi. The home side chased down Sri Lanka's lowly 102 for 6 with 7 wickets and 17 balls to spare. Opting to bat again, Sri Lanka made a nightmarish start when captain Chamari Athapaththu fell in the third over. Number three batter Oshadi Ranasinghe followed suit for a 12-ball eight in the eighth over. Sri Lanka navigated out of the early dents with a semblance of partnership between Hasini Perera and Nilakshi de Silva. But that too lasted only as far as the 14th over when Tuba Hasasn saw the back of opener Perera. Harshitha Madavi attempted to stitch another stand with Nilakshi but that was also only worth 28 runs before she was dismissed. With that Sri Lanka went down to 90 for 4 in the 19th … [Read more...] about Pakistan women double their lead in another low-scorer

Who is Rajat Patidar? Know all about RCB’s century-maker in the IPL 2022 Eliminator against LSG

May 25, 2022 by www.mykhel.com Leave a Comment

A maiden IPL hundred was a just reward for his clean, non-muddled hitting for RCB on Wednesday night (May 25). His innings ensured that RCB reach a very challenging total against LSG and in a prime position to reach Qualifier 2 against Rajasthan Royals. Fortune also favoured Patidar on this night as Deepak Hooda dropped him when he was 82 off Ravi Bishnoi and to make it worse, the ball rolled over the ropes for a four. Patidar meted out severe punishment for the young Bishnoi, whose leg-spin was dispatched for 3 sixes and 2 fours to rack in 26 runs in 5 overs as RCB recovered from a sluggish middle-over phase to race to a big total. So, who is Rajat Patidar? For beginners, he is a 28-year-old middle-order batsman from Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Rajat Patidar Patidar is in circuit from 2015 and was part of RCB set up in IPL 2020 and 2021 too but did not get much chance to showcase his skill. However, it required a bit of fortune for Patidar to return to the RCB set … [Read more...] about Who is Rajat Patidar? Know all about RCB’s century-maker in the IPL 2022 Eliminator against LSG

Zach LaVine free agency: How star guard could fit with Lakers, Blazers, others if he leaves Bulls this summer

May 26, 2022 by www.cbssports.com Leave a Comment

Getty Images Sometimes there's no right answer when it comes to roster-building. The Chicago Bulls faced such a no-win dilemma last offseason. With the capacity to create meaningful cap space, they had the ability to renegotiate Zach LaVine's sorely below-market contract and extend him for five seasons. Doing so would have robbed them of the flexibility they'd need to build a winner. History says stars only stay with winning teams. By extending LaVine early, the Bulls may well have been setting themselves up for a trade request down the line. So they opened Door No. 2 and found Nikola Vucevic , DeMar DeRozan , Lonzo Ball and Alex Caruso . The revamped Bulls held the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference for much of the season, and were it not for injuries, may have advanced deep into the playoffs. It was LaVine's first trip to the postseason. It might also have spelled the end of LaVine's time in Chicago. By using their financial flexibility to improve rather than … [Read more...] about Zach LaVine free agency: How star guard could fit with Lakers, Blazers, others if he leaves Bulls this summer

The Wraparound is your daily look at the 2022 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs. We’ll break down the NHL playoff games today with the all-important television information. • The Blues overcame a 3-0 deficit to keep their season alive vs. the Avalanche Wednesday night. • Panthers forward Joe Thornton is not quite ready to decide on his future yet . • Capitals forward Tom Wilson will be sidelined for the next 6-8 months after undergoing knee surgery this offseason. Even though they have had two of the best offensive players in the league for the past seven years, the Edmonton Oilers have mostly been a punch line for the Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl era. They have had little regular season success, almost no postseason success, and have mostly wasted some of the prime years of two franchise players with a flawed roster that has been short on depth, defense, and goaltending. Some of that is changing. The Oilers have been significantly better since the … [Read more...] about Connor McDavid looks unstoppable for Edmonton Oilers this postseason

Michelle Wie West to step away from LPGA Tour after U.S. Women’s Open, won’t rule out 2023 return

May 26, 2022 by www.cbssports.com Leave a Comment

Getty Images One of the biggest names in the women's game announced on Thursday that she would be stepping away from the LPGA Tour. In an interview with Golfweek, Michelle Wie West confirmed her intent to play in next week's U.S. Women's Open at Pine Needles, but that she would steer clear of competitive golf until next year's championship. "I'm definitely not ruling anything out," said the 32-year-old . Wie West turned professional at the age of 15 with a mountain of expectations on her shoulders. While her career would not materialize into the LPGA version of Tiger Woods as many projected, Wie West was able to capture five Tour wins and her two biggest dreams: a U.S. Open crown and a degree from Stanford. "Because I accomplished both of those, I think I feel very happy in my decision now," she said. "I think if I hadn't won the U.S. Open, I'd still be out there competing week to week trying to get that U.S. Open win." Wie West bursted onto the golf scene as a … [Read more...] about Michelle Wie West to step away from LPGA Tour after U.S. Women’s Open, won’t rule out 2023 return

Ray Liotta, who played Shoeless Joe Jackson in ‘Field of Dreams,’ dies at 67

May 26, 2022 by www.cbssports.com Leave a Comment

Getty Images Actor Ray Liotta died this week at age 67 . Liotta is perhaps best known for the iconic "Goodfellas," but in sports circles, he's also very well-known for his portrayal of Shoeless Joe Jackson in 1989's "Field of Dreams." Mileage varies, obviously, but "Field of Dreams" is generally regarded as one of the best baseball movies ever. There's even now an annual MLB game themed after the movie and played in Iowa. The driving force behind the movie is the ghostly presence of Liotta's Jackson, so let's take a quick second to pay homage. One might recall that initially, Kevin Costner's character hears, "if you build it, he will come" and voice is thought to be referring to building a baseball field so Shoeless Joe Jackson can come play. When Jackson's ghost does show up, he does some baseball activities with Costner's Ray Kinsella, including batting practice: Perhaps the most enduring part of that scene -- other than the line drive right back at Kinsella once … [Read more...] about Ray Liotta, who played Shoeless Joe Jackson in ‘Field of Dreams,’ dies at 67
