SRI LANKA WOMEN TOUR OF PAKISTAN by Cricbuzz Staff • Published on Share Tweet Ayesha Naseem top-scored for Pakistan with 45 © Getty An allround bowling effort from Pakistan downed Sri Lanka in a second-successive low-scorer in Karachi. The home side chased down Sri Lanka's lowly 102 for 6 with 7 wickets and 17 balls to spare. Opting to bat again, Sri Lanka made a nightmarish start when captain Chamari Athapaththu fell in the third over. Number three batter Oshadi Ranasinghe followed suit for a 12-ball eight in the eighth over. Sri Lanka navigated out of the early dents with a semblance of partnership between Hasini Perera and Nilakshi de Silva. But that too lasted only as far as the 14th over when Tuba Hasasn saw the back of opener Perera. Harshitha Madavi attempted to stitch another stand with Nilakshi but that was also only worth 28 runs before she was dismissed. With that Sri Lanka went down to 90 for 4 in the 19th … [Read more...] about Pakistan women double their lead in another low-scorer

More than fitness, Bangladesh need to look at mental side of the game – Shakib
SRI LANKA TOUR OF BANGLADESH, 2022 by Atif Azam • Last updated on Share Tweet ''I think there is Mushfiq bhai and Liton in the middle and if they can bat like they did in the first innings we have a chance," Shakib © AFP Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is still hopeful of Bangladesh finding a way to steer themselves to safer waters in the second Test against Sri Lanka. The hosts found themselves in a precarious position at 34/4, still trailing by 107 at stumps on Day 4. Bangladesh's hopes of posting a draw now rest on the shoulders of first innings centurions - Liton Das and Mushfiqur Rahim. Shakib himself is slated to bat next at No.7. ''I think there is Mushfiq bhai and Liton in the middle, and if they can bat like they did in the first innings we have a chance,'' Shakib told reporters at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Friday. ''When two batsmen get set on this wicket, then removing them is quite … [Read more...] about More than fitness, Bangladesh need to look at mental side of the game – Shakib
Bangladesh stutter after SL take big lead
BAN V SL, 2022 by Cricbuzz Staff • Published on Share Tweet Sri Lanka reduced Bangladesh to 34 for 4 © AFP Bangladesh find themselves staring down the barrel on a day dominated by the Lankans through and through at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. A couple of wicketless sessions and then another top-order collapse with the bat has now meant that the onus has fallen back on Mushfiqur Rahim and Litton Das to bat out of their skins to save this Test, and thereby the series. The start of the third session brought some respite for the hosts with Dinesh Chandimal smashing a pretty full Ebadot Hossain delivery straight to extra cover, to end a 199-run stand with Angelo Mathews. The tail didn't wag long either, with the last four wickets falling for a mere 24 runs, leaving Mathews stranded at the other end. Nevertheless, the damage was done, with a massive 141-run lead in their kitty. Shakib Al Hasan was the only … [Read more...] about Bangladesh stutter after SL take big lead
Galloping RCB train eyes on summit clash
RR VS RCB by Bharath Ramaraj • Last updated on Share Tweet Can RCB fly into the final of IPL 2022? © BCCI When Rajat Patidar walked out to bat with a confident gait against Lucknow Super Giants, Royal Challengers Bangalore had just lost Faf du Plessis to Mohsin Khan's brilliance. Mohsin also straightaway troubled Patidar by beating him on the edge. In the very next over, Patidar stood tall and punched one past point off Dushmantha Chameera. From there on, Rajat didn't look back. Almost every single time he cracked a shot, there was unbridled celebration among the fans. Patidar remained unbeaten 112 to lay the platform while Harshal Patel held his nerve in the slog overs to power RCB to a defining win in the Eliminator. Perhaps RCB can now dream of winning some silverware? They certainly have some momentum going into the Qualifier 2 against Rajasthan Royals. They also seem to have a bit of rub of the green going their way … [Read more...] about Galloping RCB train eyes on summit clash

The veteran India wicketkeeper, who is currently with the Gujarat Titans team in the IPL, has turned down a request from Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) to be part of the team. Bengal are scheduled to play Jharkhand in the quarterfinals from June 6 in Bengaluru. "The Cricket Association of Bengal wanted Wriddhiman Saha to play for Bengal at this crucial juncture especially when Bengal would be fighting in the Knockout stage in a bid to win the Ranji Trophy after becoming the top ranked team in the country at the end of the Group Stage. Trailblazers defend big score but bow out of Women’s T20 Challenge
WOMEN'S T20 CHALLENGE, 2022 by Cricbuzz Staff • Published on Share Tweet Kiran Navgire, of Velocity, played a blinder of a knock on debut - hitting 5 fours and 5 sixes in a knock of 69 (34) © BCCI There was so much at stake: a finals spot, the NRR to deal with, and some serious showcasing of raw Indian talent on the big stage. At the end of it all, both sides found themselves with a mixed bag of emotions, with the Trailblazers having won but not qualifying for the finals, and Velocity having qualified but not won. The finals' equation Thanks to their 49-run drubbing at the hands of the Supernovas in the first game, Trailblazers didn't just have to win this, but had to win this by a margin of 32 runs to stand a chance to make it to the finals. Their batters gave them just that, a whopping 190 runs on the board. In a testament to how closely competed this tournament is, the Trailblazers scripted history by piling … [Read more...] about Trailblazers defend big score but bow out of Women’s T20 Challenge
