Mar 4, 2018; Indianapolis, IN, USA; North Carolina State Wolfpack defensive lineman Bradley Chubb participates in work out drills during the 2018 NFL Combine at Lucas Oil Stadium. Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports Bradley Chubb is proving to be quite the remarkable draft prospect, both in football prowess and in fashion sense.Speaking Tuesday on “NFL Up To The Minute,” NFL Network’s Mike Garafalo reported that the New York Giants were “extremely impressed” by the former North Carolina State star during a recent visit, one that he even showed up for in a suit and tie. Garafolo also says Giants GM Dave Gettleman complimented Chubb on his attire as well as his overall attitude during the visit. The Giants hold the No. 2 overall pick in this year’s draft, and it sounds like the 21-year-old defensive end Chubb may very well be in play for them at that spot. That is, of course, assuming that another team with interest in the 2017 ACC … [Read more...] about Bradley Chubb reportedly impressed Giants during visit
James Bettcher made it clear that traditional 4-3 defensive ends can flourish in his scheme as an outside linebacker. “Look at Markus Golden who came out of college in Missouri as a 4-3 defensive end who had his hand in the ground,” the Giants’ defensive coordinator said on Wednesday, recalling the Cardinals’ second-round pick in 2015. “Comes out and two years later has double-digit sacks in this scheme. You talk about Chandler Jones who was in New England as a 4-3 defensive end and came to this scheme. It’s just like anything else, there are new things you have to learn, but it’s still playing football. It’s still rushing off the edge.” He also spoke about Dwight Freeney and John Abraham, long-time 4-3 ends who flourished in the 3-4 base scheme later in their careers. “They all loved it because they got to do a little bit of everything,” he said. “They weren’t one-trick ponies.” Enter Bradley Chubb, … [Read more...] about Could Bradley Chubb, a 4-3 defensive end in college, be a fit in Giants’ new 3-4 scheme?
Bradley Chubb is the consensus top defensive end in the 2018 NFL Draft but how does he compare to Myles Garrett and Jadeveon Clowney? If quarterback is the most important position in football, then the guy responsible for stopping the quarterback is the second most important. That’s why NC State defensive end Bradley Chubb will be a hot commodity in the NFL Draft. His ability to get to the quarterback as well as set the edge as a quality run defender will make him the first edge defender off the board. Chubb arrived at NC State as one of their best recruits in years and consistently improved his game to the point where he broke out as the nation’s best defensive lineman in 2017. He’ll be compared to former top picks, Myles Garrett and Jadeveon Clowney, but he’s a different type of player than those. They were physical freaks of nature with rare athletic gifts and college production to match. Chubb, very well in his own right, just doesn’t have the … [Read more...] about 2018 NFL Draft profile: Bradley Chubb will terrorize opposing quarterbacks
