Trailblazers Beat Velocity By 16 Runs But Crash Out Of Women’s T20 Challenge On Net Run-rate | Cricket News

May 26, 2022 by sports.ndtv.com Leave a Comment

Velocity suffered a 16-run defeat in the Women's T20 Challenge but still qualified for the final on the basis of a better net run-rate, knocking out victors Trailblazers from the tournament in Pune on Thursday. Velocity will face Supernovas in the summit clash on Saturday. Invited to bat, Sabbhineni Meghana and Jemimah Rodrigues smashed scintillating fifties to help the defending champions post a huge 190 for five, the highest total in the history of the tournament. But they needed to restrict Velocity to 159 to become the second team to qualify for the final but it was not to be as Kiran Navgire had other ideas. The 27-year-old all-rounder from Maharashtra lit up the night sky with five fours and as many sixes on way to her 34-ball 69 to take Velocity across the 150-mark and on the doorstep of the final. The Trailblazers bowlers, led by Poonam Yadav (2/33) and Rajeshwari Gayakwad (2/44), eventually managed to restrict Velocity to 174 for nine to also open their account but … [Read more...] about Trailblazers Beat Velocity By 16 Runs But Crash Out Of Women’s T20 Challenge On Net Run-rate | Cricket News

Vitality Blast: Paul Stirling smashes 34 runs in an over during 46-ball hundred for Birmingham Bears

May 26, 2022 by www.skysports.com Leave a Comment

Birmingham Bears opener Paul Stirling was at his devastating best in the Vitality Blast with his 46-ball hundred including taking Northamptonshire seamer James Sales for 34 runs in an over. The Ireland international (119 off 51 deliveries) struck five successive sixes off Sales in the 13th over of Thursday's North Group game at Edgbaston before slicing a four through third man. Stirling's third career T20 ton, which featured 10 sixes and nine fours, came on his Bears debut and against one of his former clubs. He and Sam Hain (66no off 32) clattered the Steelbacks during a stand of 170 from 70 balls, which fired the Bears to 207-3 in a game reduced to 16 overs a side. Set a DLS-adjusted target of 206 from their 16 overs, Northants capitulated to 81 all out in 14.2 overs and a 125-run defeat as spinners Jake Lintott and Danny Briggs bagged three wickets apiece. Only Sales (11no), Chris Lynn (16) and Saif Zaib (16) reached double figures for the Steelbacks. RR vs RCB IPL 2022 Qualifier 2 Stats & Records Preview: Sanju, Karthik, Chahal, Buttler eye rare milestones "It's been 14 years for RCB (as they've never owned that elusive silverware) and 13 years since Rajasthan won their last title in the inaugural season. Galloping RCB train eyes on summit clash

RR VS RCB by Bharath Ramaraj • Last updated on Share Tweet Can RCB fly into the final of IPL 2022? © BCCI When Rajat Patidar walked out to bat with a confident gait against Lucknow Super Giants, Royal Challengers Bangalore had just lost Faf du Plessis to Mohsin Khan's brilliance. Mohsin also straightaway troubled Patidar by beating him on the edge. In the very next over, Patidar stood tall and punched one past point off Dushmantha Chameera. From there on, Rajat didn't look back. Almost every single time he cracked a shot, there was unbridled celebration among the fans. Patidar remained unbeaten 112 to lay the platform while Harshal Patel held his nerve in the slog overs to power RCB to a defining win in the Eliminator. Perhaps RCB can now dream of winning some silverware? They certainly have some momentum going into the Qualifier 2 against Rajasthan Royals. They also seem to have a bit of rub of the green going their way … [Read more...] about Galloping RCB train eyes on summit clash

Who is Rajat Patidar? Know all about RCB’s century-maker in the IPL 2022 Eliminator against LSG

May 25, 2022 by www.mykhel.com Leave a Comment

A maiden IPL hundred was a just reward for his clean, non-muddled hitting for RCB on Wednesday night (May 25). His innings ensured that RCB reach a very challenging total against LSG and in a prime position to reach Qualifier 2 against Rajasthan Royals. Fortune also favoured Patidar on this night as Deepak Hooda dropped him when he was 82 off Ravi Bishnoi and to make it worse, the ball rolled over the ropes for a four. Patidar meted out severe punishment for the young Bishnoi, whose leg-spin was dispatched for 3 sixes and 2 fours to rack in 26 runs in 5 overs as RCB recovered from a sluggish middle-over phase to race to a big total. So, who is Rajat Patidar? For beginners, he is a 28-year-old middle-order batsman from Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Rajat Patidar Patidar is in circuit from 2015 and was part of RCB set up in IPL 2020 and 2021 too but did not get much chance to showcase his skill. However, it required a bit of fortune for Patidar to return to the RCB set … [Read more...] about Who is Rajat Patidar? Know all about RCB’s century-maker in the IPL 2022 Eliminator against LSG

‘You Guys Are So Thin! How Can You Hit A Six?’ – When Richard Hadlee Was Left Red Faced After Challenging Indian Players

May 26, 2022 by www.cricketcountry.com Leave a Comment

New Delhi: Indian women’s cricket has been on a steep rise in the last few years. Players like Smriti Mandhana, Harmanpreet Kaur, Shafali Verma, and Jemimah Rodrigues among others have transformed the Indian women’s team into a ruthless unit. The Indian women’s team of today is considered one of the best teams going around. However, despite making it to three World Cup finals (two ODI World Cups and one T20 World Cup), the team is yet to become a world champion. In the recently concluded ODI World Cup, the team failed to make an impact and crashed out of the tournament without making it to the semi-finals. Their next major event will be the Commonwealth Games in England. Despite the below-par performance in World Cup 2022, Indian fans will be pleased with the transformation of the team in recent years. The BCCI has also put a lot of effort into the growth of Women’s cricket and the team has paid dividends to the board with some great performances. However, initially, Women’s … [Read more...] about ‘You Guys Are So Thin! How Can You Hit A Six?’ – When Richard Hadlee Was Left Red Faced After Challenging Indian Players
