From Columbus’ perspective, Johansen was not a favorite of coach John Tortorella and already had a lengthy contract dispute. Nashville had an abundance of talent on the blueline and needed to find a top line centerman. USATSI One thing not a lot of people are talking about with all the Brooklyn Nets drama is how much the Rockets stand to benefit. Houston owns Brooklyn's 2024 and 2026 first-round picks as well as the right to swap first-round picks with the Nets in 2023, 2025 and 2027. If the Nets get worse, which looks like a certainty once Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving are traded, those picks that Houston owns suddenly become a lot more valuable. It seems quite likely that Jesse Puljujarvi has played his last game as a member of the Edmonton Oilers. There are a number of factors at play here including Edmonton’s salary cap crunch, his status as a restricted free agent, as well as the fact there seems to be an equal amount of mutual frustration from both sides. When there is this much smoke, there is usually a reason for it. Assuming the Oilers do move him in the coming days, weeks, or months, it has the potential to be a regrettable move for them and a nice win for the team that acquires him on the cheap. Kevin Durant may have given Brooklyn a two-team wish list with his trade demand — Phoenix and Miami — but the Nets are under no obligation to abide by his wishes. Yes, Major League Baseball's draft (scheduled to begin on Sunday, July 17), but also the conclusion of Kumar Rocker's year-long odyssey that has seen him transition from the class's most overexposed prospect to a relative mystery. Rocker has been on the national radar since 2019 when he threw a 19-strikeout no-hitter in the NCAA Super Regionals as a member of Vanderbilt's staff. Last summer, he was drafted by the New York Mets with the 10th overall pick in the 2021 MLB Draft. A post-draft physical revealed something that the Mets did not want to see, however, and caused negotiations between the two sides to fizzle. The Mets were compensated with the 11th pick in this summer's draft while Rocker retained his draft eligibility for yet another season, ensuring he'll be picked for the third time. USATSI New York Mets fans were given good news this weekend when they announced that Matt Scherzer (oblique) has been activated and is on target to pitch on Tuesday. That was coupled with the report that Jacob deGrom (shoulder) is nearing a return as well, and is pitching in a rehab start on Sunday. In the meantime, Carlos Carrasco will make his 16th start of the year for New York this afternoon against the Texas Rangers , but is he worth considering in MLB DFS lineups? For the month of June, Carrasco has a 6.37 ERA, opposing hitters have a .945 OPS against him, and he's averaged just under five innings pitched per start. However, four Rangers batters in the MLB DFS player pool have all had at least 13 at bats against him, and the only one to hit over .200 against him is spot-player Brad Miller . Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson has emerged in the top spot. The remainder of the top 10 consists of all but two quarterbacks: (2) Bills quarterback Josh Allen; (3) Raiders receiver Davante Adams ; (4) Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett ; (5) Brady; (6) Patriots quarterback Mac Jones ; (7) Rams receiver Cooper Kupp ; (8) Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert ; (9) Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes ; and (10) Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow .
