Kohli vs Tendulkar: Panesar’s suggestion to rename India vs England series starts Twitter war

Stating that both these cricketers have scored the highest Test runs for their respective countries, Panesar said that the two former players deserved the honour. Panesar took to social media site Twitter to make the suggestion. The former player further added that though Tendulkar is one of the greatest players to have graced the game, there is no series named after him. Taking to Twitter, Panesar wrote, “Eng v India test series should be called “Tendulkar Cook trophy” because both have the highest test runs for their countries, they played a lot against each other and we know Tendulkar is the biggest legend and we don’t have a series named after him. @englandcricket @BCCI #INDvENG.” The former player further suggested that the series could also be called the Vaughan-Dravid Trophy. New Motera Stadium: 4 dressing rooms, LED lights installed to eliminate shadows, says GCA secy Patel

The world's largest cricket stadium will also have 11 centre strips, which is also unique along with never before heard four dressing rooms with in-built gymnasium, said Gujarat Cricket Association's joint secretary Anil Patel. The Motera Stadium had undergone extensive renovation which started when current BCCI secretary Jay Shah was in charge of the state cricket unit. With a seating capacity of 1,10,000, which is more than Melbourne Cricket Ground, the GCA will put up around 55,000 tickets on sale for the next two Test matches at the venue. Recently, the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy's knock-outs were held at the Motera. "This is the only stadium in the world with 11 centre pitches on the main ground. Also we are the only stadium in the world with same soil being used for practice as well as centre strips," GCA joint secretary Patel said. Glenn Maxwell as expected heated up the auction early as Kolkata Knight Riders, Chennai Super Kings, and Royal Challengers Bangalore bid for the Australia allrounder at the auction on Thursday in Chennai. Maxwell was finally picked up by RCB for Rs 14.25 cr which is more than seven times his base price. Maxwell was released by Kings XI Punjab following a poor season but given the threat, he brings to the table and is a proven match-winner – it was expected that he will pull in the big money. Maxwell is a powerful lower-order batsman and can chip in with the ball and is a splendid fielder. He brings a lot of value to the table and hence it is a good buy. Recently, he has been in good form for Australia in the white-ball format. Initially, it was KKR who bid for Maxwell and then RCB joined in.
