Pete Prisco has watched the tape and has his initial top 32 ranking heading into the NFL combine by Pete Prisco @PriscoCBS CBS Sports Senior Writer Feb 27, 2019 at 8:15 am ET • 7 min read There are still two months left in the draft process, the combine hasn't even started, and pro days will take place in the next month. So it's the perfect time for my pre-combine list of the top 32 players in the 2019 NFL Draft. It is a draft deep with defensive and offensive line talent, but not a lot of big-time players at the skill positions -- other than tight end. There is no can't-miss quarterback prospect either, which will somehow drive down the grades on the talent in this draft. It shouldn't. This will be a deep draft, but the early first round should be littered with front-seven defensive players. There are five of them in my top 32, including the top three players.Ohio State defensive end Nick Bosa is the top player on my list, while Buckeyes … [Read more...] about NFL combine: Bosa No. 1, Haskins the top QB in lineman-heavy top 32 prospects in the NFL Draft

A quartet of quarterbacks go early, and the Bills take a big, productive wideout inside the top 10 by Chris Trapasso @ChrisTrapasso moments ago • 7 min read Quarterbacks are likely going to be pushed up the board in the 2019 NFL Draft. The demand simply outweighs the supply. In this mock, four signal-callers land inside the top 15, and the Bills take the only receiver in the first half of Round 1.About that prospect, Iowa State wideout Hakeem Butler: I have a feeling he's going to erupt at the combine and fly up boards as a highly athletic 6-foot-6, 225-pound, contested-catch monster.Time for the picks.Stream Sunday's NFC Championship game on fuboTV, try it for free, and stream the AFC Championship game on CBS All Access. Nick Bosa, DE, Ohio State. Kliff Kingsbury, the best way to get in the good graces of your new defensive coordinator Vance Joseph is by drafting this guy. So do it. Bosa is as polished as they come … [Read more...] about 2019 NFL Mock Draft: Four QBs in top 15, Bills make Hakeem Butler first WR off the board
The Eagles (6-6) are coming off two straight wins as they head down to North Texas for a game that could decide first place against the Dallas Cowboys (7-5) at AT&T Stadium. To the predictions: Reuben Frank (6-6) Cowboys 20, Eagles 17 Dave Zangaro (5-7) I expect Carson Wentz to have a good game, for the Eagles to find ways to keep Dallas’ defense off balance by running the ball and for the Eagles’ pass rush to get home against Dak Prescott. If all that happens, the Eagles walk out of AT&T Stadium in first place in the NFC East. Eagles 24, Cowboys 23 Derrick Gunn (6-6) But the Cowboys’ defense is legit. Arguably the fastest D in the league. They are fifth overall (318.2 yds allowed per game), fourth against the run (91.3) and second in points allowed (18.2). The Boys’ offense still runs through Ezekiel Elliott. With the addition of Amari Cooper, it opens up the offense more for the Boys’ other weapons. Pro Bowl LT Tyron … [Read more...] about Eagles-Cowboys NFL Week 14 predictions
What if Jon Gruden sticks with Derek Carr? Which draft-eligible players could help the most in 2019? by Ryan Wilson @ryanwilsonCBS CBS Sports Writer moments ago • 8 min read Last week, we looked at four draft-eligible players who could help the 49ers, currently on pace for the first-overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. This week, we'll take a look at the Raiders, the other 2-10 team who have not one but three first-round picks next spring thanks in part to trading away Khalil Mack and Amari Cooper. Not surprisingly, Oakland now has huge needs at pass rusher and wide receiver, and it could even be in the market for its next franchise quarterback if Jon Gruden determines Derek Carr isn't the long-term answer. In Carr's defense, he has played better after a rocky start; he hasn't thrown an interception since Week 5 and in that span he has nine touchdowns, though the Raiders are just 1-6. Let's assume that Gruden is happy with Carr, who … [Read more...] about 2019 NFL Draft order, race for No. 1 pick: Non-QBs the Raiders should target with three first-round picks
Ranking the league's top first-year players after three quarters of the 2018 season by Cody Benjamin Nov 28, 2018 • 4 min read The 2018 NFL MVP race is a rather narrow one.Between New Orleans Saints sage Drew Brees and Kansas City Chiefs gunslinger Patrick Mahomes, the league's highest honor is bound to end up in a quarterback's arms, even if Todd Gurley deserves at least a courtesy nod.But what about Rookie of the Year honors? There is a clear-cut favorite there as well (see: New York Giants running back). But there are also more than a dozen first-year players who could probably make a case for Offensive or Defensive Rookie of the Year recognition this season. Here, we've ranked the top 15 of 2018, nonspecific to the actual awards but in terms of front-runners, contenders, sleepers and deep sleepers. Some notable changes to the list since midseason: Saquon Barkley has returned to the No. 1 spot ahead of Darius Leonard and looks like a lock to stay … [Read more...] about Week 13 NFL Rookie Power Rankings: Can anyone catch Saquon Barkley in Rookie of the Year race?
