India vs England 4th Test, Day 1: England’s batsmen lost the battle of both mind and skills in yet another shoddy performance to surrender the momentum to India with Axar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin calling the shots on the opening day of the fourth and final Test here on Thursday. After five innings, England crossed the 200-run mark but a total of 205 in 75.5 overs was certainly not what Joe Root had expected when he called it right at the toss on a day which would have ideally been best for batting. There was turn and bounce but the pitch was far from being a minefield that some of the England batsmen save Ben Stokes (55, 121 balls) made it out to be. For India, spinners Axar Patel (26-7-68-4), Ravichandran Ashwin (19.5-4-47-3) and Washington Sundar (7-1-14-1) toyed with the already messed up minds, clueless on how to deal with the conditions. Mohammed Siraj (14-2-45-2) also played his part to perfection with the semi-new and old ball, hurrying the batsmen with sheer pace as … [Read more...] about India vs England, 4th Test: Axar, Ashwin Share Seven Wickets to Give Hosts The Upper Hand

Warner trumps Carey’s effort as NSW win
DOMESTIC ONE-DAY CUP by Cricbuzz Staff • Published on Share Tweet Warner marked his return to action with a match-winning 87 © Getty David Warner (87) and Oliver Davies (40*) made useful contributions to help New South Wales post a comfortable six-wicket win over South Australia in the One-Day Cup in Adelaide. NSW chased down the target of 206 in just the 30th over. South Australia, who opted to bat, found themselves in early trouble with Pat Cummins and Ben Dwarshuis picking up a scalp each. Alex Carey (99) and Travis Head (29) stitched a stand of 67 before the latter fell to Sean Abbott. Despite losing his batting partners at the other end, Carey continued to play with positive intent, pinching singles and twos, alongside the occasional boundary. He also found an able ally in Corey Kelly as the duo put on an alliance of 54 for the seventh wicket before Carey fell one short of the three-figure mark. Eventually, South … [Read more...] about Warner trumps Carey’s effort as NSW win
Rishabh Pant’s Acrobatics Impress Virat Kohli During 4th Test at Motera | WATCH VIDEO
Rishabh Pant could look a little heavy but that is extremely deceptive and he has shown that time and again. Pant is certainly one of the most flexible Indian cricketers around. During the opening day of the fourth and final Test at Motera on Thursday, Pant did a kick-up – which is a difficult move. Indian skipper Virat Kohli – who was standing next to him and had seen Pant do it – seemed highly impressed. At the end of the video, Pant and Kohli have a laugh over it. Here is what Pant did: #TeamIndia when they are 1️⃣-0️⃣ down in a series… #Paytm #INDvENG @RishabhPant17 pic.twitter.com/AIqPFnpwGm Hotstar Canada (@hotstarcanada) March 4, 2021 In the last few months, Pant has evolved as a cricketer. Liverpool v Chelsea: Klopp and Tuchel take familiar paths to Premier League showdown
You could be forgiven, though, for thinking there is a much stronger bond between two men from the same country, whose paths from young heavy-metal upstarts to coaching heavyweights have taken eerily similar paths. There are striking facets in each man's style of play too. The high intensity pressing, the devastating speed of the counter-attack, the fluidity of the forwards. PL FIXTURES | RESULTS | POINTS TABLE Now, whether you are a believer in fate or coincidence, the two are set to battle in the Premier League for the first time on Thursday when Chelsea – unbeaten so far under Tuchel – visit Anfield to take on Klopp's Liverpool. With that in mind, let's take a trip down memory lane. BECOMING THE MAINZ MAN "I had fourth-division feet and a first-division head". Even as a player, Klopp always believed his talents were better suited to the touchline than inside the white lines and it was at second-tier Mainz – where he made over 300 league appearances as a … [Read more...] about Liverpool v Chelsea: Klopp and Tuchel take familiar paths to Premier League showdown
