Stokes was swearing at me, Virat bhai handled that well: Siraj Root was trapped before the wicket by Siraj, who bowled a beautiful inswinger which would have hit the middle and leg stump. "I wanted to set Root up bowling away going deliveries. And then I thought during the start of a new over, I should bring one back in. I could execute it as I had planned and it gave me great satisfaction. Mazaa aa gaya (It was fun)," Siraj said about dismissal. Similarly, he had done his homework on Jonny Bairstow's apparent weakness against in-coming deliveries. The in-cutter that got Bairstow was bowled at more than 146 kmph. Stokes faces India accusation but says Kohli spat was 'nothing untoward' "Bairstow, I wasn't bowling him at a lot of pace at the start. ...but whatever footages I have seen of him, he gets out to in-swinging deliveries. So I wanted to bowl in one area and bring it back consistently and it worked," he said. His skipper Virat Kohli on the day mostly used him … [Read more...] about India vs England, 4th Test: Mohammed Siraj revels in Joe Root dismissal

ECB in talks with India and South Africa for women’s tri-series
Indian women's team were suposed to play a bilateral series comprising three ODIs and three T20Is against England which remains postponed for the time being. The women's T20 World Cup in Australia was the last big-ticket event to be held before the COVID-19 pandemic brought all sporting activities to a halt in March and ECB Chief Executive Tom Harrison is hoping there will be some international women's cricket this year if everything goes as per planned. "Ultimately, we will get some international cricket, all being well. The plan is to get some international cricket for the England team later this summer. We're talking to the BCCI and Cricket South Africa about bringing their women's teams over to play a tri-series," Harrison said during the Tuffers and Vaughan podcast. "So we've something to celebrate with the women's game, in September this year. Ben Stokes made 55, Daniel Lawrence got 46 while Ollie Pope fought hard for his 29 and batted out 87 deliveries. Yet, at no stage did they threaten to put India under pressure. Axar Patel picked four wickets while R Ashwin got three. Mohammed Siraj was equally impressive as he accounted for Root and Jonny Bairstow. Zak Crawley and Dom Sibley made watchful starts but were clearly carrying scars from the previous game. Axar took just two balls to strike - as Sibley inside-edged a straight delivery back to his leg stump. Crawley, however, had taken his … [Read more...] about India seize advantage after England’s lower order collapse
