Former legendary West Indies batsman Brian Lara has heaped praise on newly-appointed Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant. Lara stated Pant has taken giant strides in the last four months and he will do a good job for the Capitals in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League. Pant has had a dream run in the last few months as he has been on the roll both as a batsman as well as a wicket-keeper. The left-hander top scored for India with 274 runs in the Test series against Australia and then continued his sublime form against England as he scored 270 runs in the four-match Test series against the visitors. Pant was also able to grab his opportunity in the ODI series as he scored 155 runs in two matches. Anirban Lahiri confident ahead of RBC Heritage
In addition, Lahiri, who is used to having his coach Vijay Divecha with him in the U.S. for every 2 to 3 months, is finally reunited for three weeks. Divecha arrived at the start of the Masters week, which was an off week for Lahiri. After struggling for quite some time before finishing fifth at the Valero Texas Open, an upbeat Lahiri said, “We'll get to work on the other departments and just try and build. It will be nice to actually have him take over and have me think less and do more. It’s been tough the last three or four weeks just grinding, grinding, and grinding and working hard. So it felt nice to be rewarded by a nice week (in Texas). And now Vijay can add to that. Having him is a big change. It is a big difference.” Divecha will spend around three weeks with Lahiri. Divecha said, “We work in the week of Masters, play the RBC Heritage and have another week off to work. Then let’s see.” The confidence of a top-5 in Texas was timely and seeing his good friend, Matsuyama … [Read more...] about Anirban Lahiri confident ahead of RBC Heritage

NBA: Irving leads Nets to summit as Harden sits out, Jazz players feared ‘end’ during flight
The Nets trailed by as many as 18 points, while NBA MVP hopeful Harden sat out the fourth quarter against his former team the Rockets with right hamstring tightness. Harden finished with 17 points, eight rebounds and six assists in 27 minutes on Wednesday. But star team-mate Irving picked up the slack, posting 31 points and a season-high 12 assists to guide the Nets to the top of the Eastern Conference. The Nets, who have won 19 of their past 22 games, are a half-game clear of the Philadelphia 76ers. Meanwhile, the NBA-leading Utah Jazz feared 'the end" before their 111-107 win over the Memphis Grizzlies. Utah's charter flight was forced into an emergency landing after the plane collided with a flock of birds, causing an engine fire and failure. After scoring 26 points to lift the Jazz, All-Star Mike Conley told reporters: "For a good 10 or 15 minutes, I think all of us on that flight were questioning if we were going to be here today. "That's how serious it was for us. I … [Read more...] about NBA: Irving leads Nets to summit as Harden sits out, Jazz players feared ‘end’ during flight
