Ryan Lochte boosted by the past for his biggest Olympic challenge ahead

· March 7, 2021 ·

Ryan Lochte finished fifth in his primary event, three months before the Olympic Trials, but he expressed confidence while at his first swim meet of the year. That’s because he sees parallels between recent training under coach Gregg Troy at the University of Florida and his memories from the same environment a decade ago, when he supplanted Michael Phelps as the world’s best swimmer. “The times I’m going in practice, just the yardage, the back-to-back [practices] … I’m seeing it more often. It makes me excited to see what this summer’s going to hold,” Lochte said before placing fifth in the 200m individual medley at a Pro Series stop in San Antonio on Saturday night. “I’m making the finals and being able to be in somewhat of a race with those other guys knowing that I’m dead tired [from training].” It’s a different takeaway than Lochte’s last meet in November, which he called probably his worst ever . Michael Andrew , who at 21 is 15 years younger than Lochte, … [Read more...] about Ryan Lochte boosted by the past for his biggest Olympic challenge ahead

Why this is the biggest Duke vs. North Carolina game in 52 years

· March 6, 2021 ·

On Saturday night, the North Carolina Tar Heels will host the Duke Blue Devils in the latest edition of the heated rivalry. The game is the final regular-season game for both teams and should prove to play a crucial role in both teams’ NCAA tournament hopes. Earlier in the season, North Carolina beat Duke at Cameron Indoor Stadium by a score of 91-87. Tar Heels guard Caleb Love led all scorers with 25 points and seven assists. During Saturday morning’s edition of ESPN’s CollegeGameday, college basketball analyst Seth Greenberg said that this is the biggest Duke-UNC game in 52 years. “I think this is the biggest Duke-North Carolina game since 1969,” Greenberg said. “That's when Duke played North Carolina in an ACC Championship Game when there was only one bid per conference. And the winner of the game earned a berth to the NCAA Tournament. Right now when I look at this, Duke, you're trying to stay alive and continue to their season, and continue the quest for the NCAA … [Read more...] about Why this is the biggest Duke vs. North Carolina game in 52 years

Team bonding because of bio-bubbles is unlike anything I’ve experienced – Ashwin

· June 6, 2021 ·

ENGLAND TOUR OF INDIA 2020-21 by Cricbuzz Staff • Last updated on Share Tweet For most parts of the last six months, many of the Indian players have been in bio-bubble © BCCI Ravichandran Ashwin has termed India's win in the second Test in Chennai as the team's "standout performance" of the recently-concluded series against England. The result had helped India bounce back and get parity after losing the opening Test by 227 runs , a game in which Indian players were "tired" after the tour of Australia and played "like zombies" according to India coach Ravi Shastri. India's home Test rubber against England had closely followed a long tour of Australia - consisting of a white-ball leg followed by four Test matches - which came at the back of a nearly two-month stay in UAE for the Indian Premier League. There were less than three weeks between the England and Australia series, and bio-bubbles meant that it wasn't easy on the … [Read more...] about Team bonding because of bio-bubbles is unlike anything I’ve experienced – Ashwin
