Nasser Hussain says England have lost batting rhythm after playing on two difficult surfaces in India

· February 24, 2021 ·

Pink-ball Tests are generally quick affairs - but not this quick! India vs England, 3rd Test: Visitors looked like startled rabbits in second innings, says Nasser Hussain

· February 26, 2021 ·

Hussain said it's all about mentality now and the tourists need to find a way to draw the series, which will be a good result for them. England on Thursday (February 25) suffered a 10-wicket defeat in the third Test against India inside two days to hand India an unassailable 2-1 lead. Joe Root and his men struggled on the spin-friendly Motera pitch, managing 112 and 81 in their two innings respectively. "Especially on this pitch, where one spins prodigiously and the other skids on, you lose all kind of rhythm. That's what successive Test matches on these sorts of pitches do for your mindset," Hussain said on 'Sky Sports Cricket Podcast'. "England looked like startled rabbits in that second innings. I don't think it was an 81 all out pitch but this was a much tougher pitch than Chennai." India Vs England Pink Ball Test: Key Stats, milestones created as India beat England by 10 wickets Left-arm spinner Axar Patel, who was the destructor-in-chief, relentlessly hit the good … [Read more...] about India vs England, 3rd Test: Visitors looked like startled rabbits in second innings, says Nasser Hussain

Djokovic’s position on world tennis throne not under threat from next generation, says Murray

· February 23, 2021 ·

Djokovic’s big-match experience shined through while cruising to a straight-sets win over Russia’s Daniil Medvedev to seal his ninth Australian Open win and 18th career grand slam title. The Serbian has lifted six of the last 10 slams, with 20-time slam-winner Rafael Nadal claiming three and Dominic Thiem capturing his first major honour at the 2020 US Open. Australian Open: More Melbourne magic for Djokovic – a look at his nine titles The draw opened up for the Austrian in Flushing Meadows when Djokovic was eliminated after defaulting in the fourth round when hitting a line judge with a stray ball. Thiem is the only first-time winner of a major in the past 24 events over a six-year period, and Murray cannot see a changing of the guard anytime soon. "The younger guys, for me, they've not shown that they're particularly close," Murray said. "I expected the [Australian Open] final to be closer but it's a different standing to return or to serve in a grand slam final than … [Read more...] about Djokovic’s position on world tennis throne not under threat from next generation, says Murray

JuJu Smith-Schuster: ‘I want to have my legacy in Pittsburgh and retire there’

· February 24, 2021 ·

JuJu Smith-Schuster is a free agent and there’s a lot of uncertainty with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Although it appears quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is likely to return, the same can’t be said for the star receiver. However, Smith-Schuster made it clear he wants to be in Pittsburgh in 2021 and beyond. There is no contract currently on the table from the Steelers or another team this early in the offseason. Smith-Schuster spoke with TMZ Sports and said he wants his legacy to be with the Steelers. "To be home close to family would be cool, but at the end of the day, I want to have my legacy in Pittsburgh and retire there," Smith-Schuster said to TMZ . "I don't want to leave. Until I actually get let go, other than that, I'm Pittsburgh for life." In all 16 games this season, Smith-Schuster recorded 97 receptions for 831 yards and a career-high nine touchdowns. Friday 5: Studious Kyle Larson looks to ‘finally close one out’ at Miami

· February 26, 2021 ·

Kyle Larson can’t wait for Sunday’s Cup race. And it’s not because Homestead-Miami Speedway is among his best tracks. He just wants to be back in the car. “These weeks are long,” Larson told NBC Sports. While most drivers have become acclimated to no practice and qualifying at most NASCAR events, it is new to Larson, who missed the final 32 Cup races last season after losing his ride at Chip Ganassi Racing . With less time in the car, he has spent more time on race preparation. Still, a racer wants to race. “It’s been probably since 2009 or ’08 or even before that where I’ve only been in a race car one day a week,” Larson said. “If I’m only racing one day a week with NASCAR, you’re usually in the car practicing for a couple of days. They’ve been long weeks waiting for the weekends. Just ready to get down to Florida and hopefully have a good weekend at one of my best tracks and lead some laps and finally close one out.” In 14 races across the Cup, Xfinity and … [Read more...] about Friday 5: Studious Kyle Larson looks to ‘finally close one out’ at Miami
