Getty Images Lawyer Rusty Hardin has said that a response on behalf of Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson to multiple claims of assault during massage sessions will be provided next week . Someone apparently has leaked a preview of a portion of Watson’s explanation. According to TMZ.com, Watson used Instagram to find massage therapists because his usual therapist became unavailable during the COVID-19 pandemic . Per the report, Watson used “various friends, teammates and associates” for recommendations. While that information has nothing to do with the question of whether Watson engaged in misconduct during the massages (he insists he didn’t; at least 12 women formally have claimed otherwise), it attempts to explain away the perception that Watson deliberately used Instagram to seek out massages that possibly were going to be something more than massages. Getty Images None of the 21 women who have sued Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson of misconduct during massages have attached their names to the lawsuits. On Wednesday, 18 message therapists who have worked with Watson issued comments regarding his behavior during massage sessions. All 18 have attached their names to their statements, which were provided to PFT by Watson’s lawyer, Rusty Hardin. The 18 massage therapists are: Myah Roberson, Sara Fetherolf, Kaleigh Galindo, Masako Jones, Luretia Dany Craig, Norma Reyna, Kam Phommyuong, Nalisha Storm, Dr. Arielle Ball, Jas Brooks, Ashley Thomas, LaWonda Howard, Nadiyah Luqman, Ana Compean, Raechal Martin, Joanne Brito, Tina Nguyen, and Kya Hillman. Getty Images On the heels of a pair of victories in court on the question of whether the women suing Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson would be required to disclose their names, attorney Rusty Hardin held a press conference regarding the case. Hardin admitted that consensual sexual encounters sometimes occurred with massage therapists. Hardin insists, however, that he did not coerce the massage therapists or use his status as a celebrity to violate the ability of the massage therapists to provide consent. Hardin repeatedly expressed disappointment and frustration with attorney Tony Buzbee’s efforts to try the case through the media. However, Hardin also did the exact same thing during the press conference, introducing multiple colleagues who vouched for Watson’s character and innocence based on their interactions with him since Hardin’s firm was hired more than three weeks ago. Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson is in some serious hot water after a series of sexual assault allegations were made against him last month and have since increased in number. The NFL is now investigating the claims and Watson’s future in the league is uncertain. Watson is reportedly "dumbfounded" by what he says are unsubstantiated claims he participated in sexual misconduct with several Houston-area masseuses and now faces several lawsuits surrounding the allegations.
