Lutalo Muhammad: British Taekwondo athlete on online trolling and beacon of hope the Olympics can provide

· April 3, 2021 ·

Lutalo Muhammad looks forward to the Olympics this summer with infectious confidence that he will again make the British Taekwondo team and complete the set of Olympic medals. He won bronze at London 2012 and silver in Rio but that silver is tinged in heartbreak, life lessons and online trolling. Having received death threats for just being picked for the London Games, Rio brought him a whole new world of pain. He was winning the final until the last second, when a head kick from his opponent changed his certain gold to silver in a heartbeat. NHL On NBC: How coaching change is helping Sabres finish strong

· April 17, 2021 ·

NBC’s coverage of the 2020-21 NHL season continues with Saturday’s matchup between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Buffalo Sabres. Penguins-Sabres stream coverage begins at 3 p.m. ET on NBC. You can watch the game online and on the NBC Sports app by clicking here . It might be an understatement to say the 2020-21 season has been a major disappointment for the Sabres. After making a couple of big splashes in the offseason to add Taylor Hall and Eric Staal to the lineup, pretty much everything went wrong for the roster once the puck dropped on the season and things quickly devolved into chaos. The Sabres enter Saturday’s game against the Penguins with the league’s worst record and are set to miss the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the 10th year in a row. The organization probably needs a rebuild to recover from its previous rebuild. Jack Eichel is done for the season. Hall and Staal were traded before the trade deadline. They remaining roster is simply playing out the season … [Read more...] about NHL On NBC: How coaching change is helping Sabres finish strong

Dan Orlovsky on Alabama: ‘NFL organizations absolutely love that’

· April 16, 2021 ·

Alabama is basically an NFL factory. This season, they’re expected to have three prospects go early, potentially all in the Top 10 of the NFL Draft. Mac Jones , DeVonta Smith and Jaylen Waddle are the top three but there’s also Patrick Surtain and Christian Barmore, giving Alabama potentially five high first round picks. ESPN NFL analyst Dan Orlovksy believes NFL teams are all over Alabama and basically love them more than any other program. Orlovksy pointed to head coach Nick Saban’s “process over results.” “It's a program that's process over results,” Orlovsky said. “You are what you repeatedly do. NFL programs believe Nick Saban has ingrained that into his players. So they are already ready to become pros. They already understand what it's like to be a pro because they've been one for at least three or four years, so to speak. They've been pros on campus. I think NFL programs look at that talent and go, 'great, that's there.' But the character makeup, the … [Read more...] about Dan Orlovsky on Alabama: ‘NFL organizations absolutely love that’
