ILT20 by Cricbuzz Staff • Published on Share Tweet Hasaranga picked 3 for 13 © ILT20 Three wickets apiece by Wanindu Hasaranga and Luke Wood powered Desert Vipers to a 22-run win against Sharjah Warriors on Tuesday, and propelled them into the playoffs as well as to the top of the points table. Put in to bat, Vipers had a fairly slow start, losing Alex Hales early and Rohan Mustafa struggling to get going. Some tidy bowling in the middle overs, followed by regular strikes, ensured Vipers couldn't score much faster than run-a-ball. By the time Sherfane Rutherford was run out, the team was reduced to 80 for 5 in 13.1 overs. Benny Howell, in the company of Sam Billings, provided the spark in the late overs, smashing four boundaries en route his unbeaten 23-ball 34. Billings, who was kept in check early on, too hit some lusty blows to propel the team to a competitive 148 for 6. Tom Kohler-Cadmore provided a brisk … [Read more...] about Desert Vipers vault into the playoffs
