MLB releases 2023 regular-season schedule, including Opening Day times, London, Mexico City series
Getty Images The full schedule for the 2023 Major League Baseball season has been released. We already had a decent idea of the general outline, but it's always nice to get the details. Before even diving into the specifics on a team level, the biggest thing to discuss is the change in the shape of the schedule, so to speak. Instead of a schedule incredibly heavy on divisional matchups, it'll be much more balanced now. Check it out: Teams had been playing 76 in-division games. That total is now down to 52 (13 games and four series against each foe). Non-divisional intraleague games (for example, NL East vs. NL Central) is now a tidy 64 (32 home and 32 away) instead of 66. Each team will have seven games against four chosen opponents and six games against the other six teams fitting this criteria. Interleague play gets the massive increase. There used to be 20 of these games and now each team has 46. This includes a home-and-home series between "natural rivals" and then … [Read more...] about MLB releases 2023 regular-season schedule, including Opening Day times, London, Mexico City series
Usman Khawaja’s India travel rescheduled due to delayed visa

“Everyone Thought His Graph Will Go Up”: Gautam Gambhir Surprised By India Star’s Struggles | Cricket News
Team India levelled the three-match series 1-1 against New Zealand after a six-wicket win in a low-scoring second T20I on Sunday in Lucknow. Asked to bowl first, Team India accepted the challenge with opened arms arms and restricted the visitors for 99/8 in 20 overs. However, the hosts also faced a similar challenge during the chase and lost their openers in a quick succession. Later, Suryakumar Yadav anchored the innings and took Team India across the line with one ball to spare. Many fans, experts, and even India skipper Hardik Pandya lashed out at the pitch curator of the Ekana Cricket Stadium for coming up with such a "shocker" pitch that resulted in only 200 runs getting scored in 39.5 overs. However, former India batter Gautam Gambhir blasted India openers, especially Ishan Kishan for his inability to rotate the strike. Batters of both teams struggled during the second T20I and the audience did not get to see even a single six during the entire match. “Give Him Chance In Shubman Gill’s Place…”: Ex Pakistan Star Advocates For Prithvi Shaw vs New Zealand | Cricket News
After a crushing loss in the first T20I against New Zealand, India edged past the Mitchell Santner -led visitors in the second T20I to level the three-match series. The Hardik Pandya -led side will hope for the winning momentum to continue in the decider too, which will be in Ahmedabad on Wednesday. In both the T20Is, opener Shubman Gill failed to leave a mark, getting out for scores of 7 and 11. It is far cry from the terrific form that he displayed in the ODI format recently, where he scored a double ton and a ton against the Blackcaps. Former Pakistan spinnr Danish Kaneria believes that Indian management can give a chance to Prithvi Shaw , who is also part of the squad, in place of Gill. "You've seen how Shubman Gill plays. Prithvi Shaw is an exciting young cricketer. He is known for his attacking game. You can give him a chance in Shubman Gill's place. Shaw has the flair. If he plays consistently, he can do wonders," Danish Kaneria said on his YouTube channel . … [Read more...] about “Give Him Chance In Shubman Gill’s Place…”: Ex Pakistan Star Advocates For Prithvi Shaw vs New Zealand | Cricket News
Super Bowl 2023 prediction, odds, reasons for hope for both teams: Eagles’ balance may trump Chiefs’ resume
The Super Bowl is upon us, and we couldn't have asked for a better matchup to close the 2022 NFL season. It's the No. 1-seed Chiefs against the No. 1-seed Eagles -- a battle between two of the league's most explosive offenses, two of this year's MVP finalists, and both literal and proverbial brothers, with star siblings Travis and Jason Kelce squaring off on the field, and Chiefs coach Andy Reid up against the franchise that employed him for more than a decade. Most Super Bowls feel like a true coin flip, and this one's no different. Both the Eagles and Chiefs went 14-3 before winning conference titles, and both have showcased elite quarterback play with Jalen Hurts and Patrick Mahomes , respectively. Betting against Mahomes and Reid in any circumstance feels foolish, but then again, no team has been as consistently well-rounded as Philadelphia. So which contender is our early pick to win it all? Find out below. How to watch the Super Bowl Date: Sunday, Feb. 12 Time: … [Read more...] about Super Bowl 2023 prediction, odds, reasons for hope for both teams: Eagles’ balance may trump Chiefs’ resume

Check out NBCSports.com every weekday morning to catch up on what you missed the night before plus the rumors, drama, and dunks that make the NBA must-watch. 1) Latest NBA trade rumors roundup We are officially nine days away from the NBA trade deadline, and the rumors and transactions tend to pick up speed when the calendar flips to February. Let’s round up the latest trade talk around the league, starting with the fact that this trade deadline may be a lot of sound and fury signifying nothing. • This is shaping up to be a dud trade deadline. Trade chatter has picked up in the past couple of weeks, but those talks do not seem to be gaining traction in most cases. Blame the play-in tournament and compact standings — teams that see a path to the postseason are less likely to be sellers. And, as ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski said on Monday on NBA Countdown, “I also think there’s more of a … [Read more...] about Three things to Know: Latest NBA trade rumors roundup
Flying High: How Malachi Coleman is using NIL to uplift his community
SAN ANTONIO — There’s a video of Malachi Coleman from his freshman basketball season that people around Nebraska’s Lincoln East High School still debate. Coleman can be seen sprinting back on defense to block a shot. At his peak, Coleman is so high he appears to bang his head on the backboard . It was as if he was flying. Some people insist it's real. The doubters say the video is fake and the camera angle manipulated the action. “There’s a little bit of folklore and legend to it,” Lincoln East assistant coach Ryan Fitzgerald said. That type of myth-making play is part of the Coleman story, largely because he’s an abnormal prospect who defies easy definition. The 6-foot-4, 190 pound Nebraska signee is the No. 63 overall player in the 2023 Top247. He pairs his size with a personal best of 10.46 seconds in the 100-meter dash. He’s a Nebraska state medalist in the 100, 200 and triple jump. Coleman averaged 33 yards per catch as a junior with 59% of his receptions ending as … [Read more...] about Flying High: How Malachi Coleman is using NIL to uplift his community

Series reaches fever pitch with a decider in Ahmedabad
NEW ZEALAND TOUR OF INDIA, 2023 by Cricbuzz Staff • Last updated on Share Tweet The series is tied 1-1. © BCCI While the pitch in Ranchi left Hardik Pandya "surprised" , the India captain was "shocked" by what was on offer in Lucknow. And when the talk is largely about the playing surface ahead of a series decider, especially with India's proud record of 12 undefeated home series on the line, something's got to give. Ahmedabad, the venue for the third and final T20I between India and New Zealand, has had its fair share of debate around pitches in the past. And the last thing both teams would want is another tricky T20 surface that sees Lockie Ferguson bowl as many overs as Mark Chapman; or Deepak Hooda twice as many as Yuzvendra Chahal. Pitch aside, India will know that there's work to be done, especially with a young side that's trying to ready itself for 2024. After a breezy ODI whitewash, the T20I rubber hasn't … [Read more...] about Series reaches fever pitch with a decider in Ahmedabad
