Flick has been tipped to take over as Germany coach when Joachim Low leaves his post following this year's Euro 2020. Lewis Hamilton secured a superb 99th Formula 1 pole position after edging out Red Bull's Sergio Perez and Max Verstappen in a frenetic and extremely close Emilia Romagna GP qualifying. Hamilton had been quiet throughout the Imola weekend but burst into form in Saturday's shootout, with his first Q3 lap - a 1:14.411 - enough to hold off the competition as the seven-time world champion single-handedly carried the fight for Mercedes against F1's charging Bulls. Once upon a time, Richmond Raceway felt like a puzzle Austin Dillon would never solve. His first nine Cup starts at the 3/4-mile short track yielded no finishes better than 13th. “I sucked there at the beginning of my career,” Dillon said this week in a media teleconference. “I dreaded going there. I said I wished Richmond would just not be a track anymore.” But while he’s still seeking his first win at Richmond, the puzzle pieces are starting to fit. In last September’s Cup Series playoff race at Richmond , Dillon recovered from a pit road speeding penalty and missing pit entrance prior to another stop to finish fourth. Lewis Hamilton insisted he was genuinely "shocked" to have overcome the Red Bulls for his first pole position of the 2021 season at the Emilia-Romagna GP - and admitted F1's fierce new inter-team fight was "challenging me in a different way". The seven-time world champion celebrated his 99th F1 pole at Imola on Saturday but said he had not been expecting to top qualifying, particularly after final practice earlier on Saturday when Max Verstappen outpaced him by six tenths of a second. Two weeks ago, former All-Pro defensive back Antonio Cromartie joined Jimbo Fisher’s coaching staff at Texas A&M for the 2021-22 season . Cromartie played for 11 seasons in the NFL where he was a four-time Pro-Bowler and 2007 All-Pro. Prior to his NFL career, Cromartie was a star at Florida State. Fisher also has Florida State ties, coaching there for eight seasons from 2010-2017.
