Albion goalkeeper Robert Sanchez has signed a long-term contract with the club until the summer of 2021. The Premier League-winning City boss is contracted for just one more year at the Etihad Stadium. City have long been keen to secure the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager’s services for longer but both they, and Guardiola himself, have been relaxed about the situation. Although the extent to which Brady wants a new deal remains be vague at this point, and possibly a point of variance between what was said on NFL Network and what was written about it on NFL.com, the reality is that Brady is grossly underpaid. At $14 million in salary for 2018 and 2019, Brady currently makes $4 million per year less than Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles. Rafa Benitez will seek talks with Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley before committing his future to the club, after they secured the win over Arsenal that guarantees Premier League survival. Ashley is keen to offer Benitez a new contract, but the Spaniard has had no interest in discussing one as he wants to ensure there is enough money to spend in the summer and a plan to overhaul the Academy and improve the training ground. Benitez has done a fantastic job in his second full season at St James’ Park, lifting a team that is largely the same as the one that won promotion last year into the top half, one point below a far more expensively-assembled Everton squad.
