If you're going to be playing Super Bowl squares on Sunday, here's a handy page to help you out by R.J. White @rjwhite1 moments ago • 2 min read Every year, hundreds of millions of people tune in to watch the Super Bowl, which this year can be streamed right here on CBSSports.com and the CBS Sports App for free on most connected devices. Most of them probably won't be Patriots or Rams fans, but there's still a way to make things more interesting for every Super Bowl party that doesn't have a rooting interest in the game. That's right, we're talking about Super Bowl squares. How it works: Whoever is in charge of the game creates a 10x10 grid. Or, you can print it out right here. Interested players then write their names into one or more of the 100 boxes available. On the outside of the 100-square grid (in the gray squares of our template), a number 0-9 is assigned to each row and column, either randomly after the squares are … [Read more...] about 2019 Super Bowl squares: Printable template for your Patriots vs. Rams Super Bowl grid

In the CBS Sports 'Madden' simulation, New England barely beat Los Angeles by Will Brinson @WillBrinson moments ago • 2 min read If you need any proof that Super Bowls can get wild, all you have to do is look at last year's game. But the story of Super Bowl LII gets even crazier. Last year's CBS Sports Madden Super Bowl simulation between the Eagles and Patriots actually predicted one of the wildest games in NFL history, before the actual game lived up to the hype. Will we get something similar this year when the Patriots and Rams meet in Super Bowl LIII? Absolutely, if this year's Madden sim is any indication. The game won't be as close, as our sim predicts a 38-31 Pats win over Los Angeles, but there were multiple opportunities for Sean McVay and Jared Goff to bring time to a full circle and take down the Patriots dynasty. First the craziness: the Patriots have delivered on insanity every single year they've been in … [Read more...] about Super Bowl 2019: ‘Madden’ simulation has Patriots defeating Rams in wild game to win sixth Super Bowl title
Vinnie Iyer @vinnieiyer Updated at 9:18 a.m. ET Updated at 9:18 a.m. ET Seventeen Super Bowls later, Tom Brady and Bill Belichick are going right back to where the Patriots' seemingly never-ending dynasty started. OK, so the "where" is a little different. Super Bowl 53 will be played in Atlanta, not New Orleans, and these Rams are from Los Angeles, not St. Louis. But it's appropriate that New England's opponent in their latest attempt at a record-tying sixth Super Bowl championship is the same team it faced in its quest for the first. MORE: Odds for Patriots vs. Rams Super Bowl 53 As a refresher, that was a 24-year-old Brady and a 49-year-old Belichick in a modest, 20-17 victory in Super Bowl 36, well before they became the most successful player-coach duo in the history of American professional team sports. It's … [Read more...] about Patriots-Rams Super Bowl rematch brings Tom Brady, Bill Belichick full circle
The playoffs, so far, haven’t been terribly thrilling. Except for a few notable exceptions, like last week’s Saints win over the Eagles, the teams that won never really left the outcome in doubt. The Divisional round was especially good for the favored teams — all of them won, setting up a pair of conference championships between the first and second seeds. So what about this weekend? If you came here looking for an upset this weekend from our wise panel of experts, well, temper your expectations. The majority of our panel this week sees both the No. 1 seeds, the Chiefs and the Saints, winning this weekend and punching their ticket for a Super Bowl. But that’s not ironclad. The Patriots are underdogs at the Chiefs this weekend. Those poor, poor Patriots. Will they ever catch a break? Our panel does not believe they will, not this week anyway. There are two picks for New England, one of which is the coin toss. Are we not giving the Patriots enough of a … [Read more...] about NFL picks 2019: Experts foresee a Chiefs vs. Saints Super Bowl matchup
1. Los Angeles Chargers: Imagine being an NFL executive contemplating the playoffs with the very real possibility that the Chargers, a team that can’t fill a tiny soccer stadium for its “home” games, could be playing deep into January. That’s got to be at least a little unnerving for the ratings watchers on Park Ave. The NFL’s best team and nobody loves them. It’s like Kirk Van Houten turned “Can I Borrow a Feeling?” into a No. 1 single, but was still, you know, Kirk Van Houten. Further proving the complete lack of cosmic justice and absence of reason in the NFL this season, the Chargers are currently the FIFTH seed in the AFC. They beat the Chiefs and are tied for the best record in the conference, but the tiebreaker currently goes to Kansas City. That could change. MVP-candidate Philip Rivers and Co. face the Ravens this week and wrap up the season against the Broncos. The Chiefs, meanwhile, are in Seattle before a December preseason … [Read more...] about NFL power rankings, Week 16: Where do we get tickets for a Chargers vs. Saints Super Bowl?
