LTA appoints seven new members to its council in drive towards inclusion and diversity in tennis

The LTA has appointed seven new members to its council as part of its drive to make tennis a more diverse and accessible sport. In an open letter last June, LTA chief executive Scott Lloyd said he wanted tennis "to be open to anyone" as he acknowledged "we haven't done enough" to make the sport inclusive. The LTA board-nominated councillors will each serve for a minimum of three and a maximum of nine years, tasked with helping to grow the sport, including coach development and support, volunteer engagement alongside inclusion and diversity. Of the new appointees, four are men and three are women, four are of colour, two have declared they are part of an underrepresented group, while three are of a significantly younger age. Three Wildcats named to NBA Rising Stars roster

Three former Kentucky players have been named to the NBA Rising Stars roster, it was announced by the league Wednesday. Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro and San Antonio Spurs guard Keldon Johnson were each named to the United States Team while Golden State Warriors guard and Windsor, Ontario, Canada native Mychal Mulder was named to the World Team. It's the second straight selection for Herro. UK led all schools with three selections. NBA Rising Stars, the league’s annual showcase of premier young talent during NBA All-Star, will not be played this year due to the limitation of having All-Star events all on one night. To recognize deserving players, the NBA kept the custom of having the league’s assistant coaches vote for Rising Stars rosters, which comprise 10 first and second-year NBA players from the United States (U.S. Team) and 10 first- and second-year NBA players from outside the United States (World Team).
