Vijay Hazare 2021: Mumbai continue dominant show, beat Rajasthan

· February 27, 2021 ·

This was Mumbai's fourth successive win, having earlier defeated Delhi, Maharashtra and Puducherry. Opting to bat at the KL Saini stadium, Mumbai rode on Iyer's 103-ball knock to post a competitive 317/7. The elegant right-handed batsman led from the front before his bowlers bundled out the opposition for 250 with Thakur (4/50) doing the bulk of the damage. Mumbai openers -- young Yashasvi Jaiswal (38) and Prithvi Shaw (36) -- gave the domestic giants a strong start, adding 71 for the first wicket. But Rajasthan pegged back Mumbai by removing both the openers in quick succession as they slipped to 83/2. Iyer anchored the innings before toying with the Rajasthan attack, scoring his second century of the tournament with the help of 11 fours and three sixes. He found able partners in Sarfaraz Khan (30) and Suryakumar Yadav (29), who played their roles to perfection. Iyer added 96 for the third wicket with Sarfaraz and then forged a 56-run stand with Suryakumar for the fourth … [Read more...] about Vijay Hazare 2021: Mumbai continue dominant show, beat Rajasthan

NASCAR neophyte Santino Ferrucci ready for Xfinity debut

· February 27, 2021 ·

Over his previous three seasons in the NTT IndyCar Series, Santino Ferrucci developed a reputation, for better or for worse, as one of the series’ most aggressive drivers. MORE: Saturday Miami Xfinity race – Start time, weather, TV “You just want the car to come back in one piece, log some laps for us,” Ferrucci said during a media teleconference Wednesday. “We have five in a row, so there’s no sense in throwing away your first race trying to do something spectacular. “It’s all about trying to be consistent and building up to it slowly.” The same can be said for Sam Hunt Racing, which will have Ferrucci in its No. 26 Toyota for the next five Xfinity races. He’ll be the team’s third different driver in as many weeks. Archie Miller highlights team’s undisciplined play in loss to Michigan

· February 27, 2021 ·

Indiana lost its third-straight game Saturday against No. 3 Michigan by a score of 73-57, and questions are quickly piling up about head coach Archie Miller , as the Hoosiers appear likely to extend their tournament drought that dates back to 2017. Miller’s team dropped to 12-12 on the season with the loss, including a 7-10 mark in Big Ten play. Michigan got out to a 42-33 lead in the first half. A big part of that was the Wolverines getting to the line a whopping 18 times, something Miller highlighted in the opening statement of his press conference. “When you give a team 18 free throws in the first half, that is a lack of physicality and discipline,” Miller said . “Their overall size and ability to drive -- they were the more aggressive team. I also thought we had some really tough reach-in calls that were really undisciplined, but they made every free throw -- 16-out of-18 in the first half. It was a big deal. “We are the No. 1 free throw shooting team in terms … [Read more...] about Archie Miller highlights team’s undisciplined play in loss to Michigan
