Former India speedster Salil Ankola tests positive for COVID-19

The former speedster took to Facebook and Instagram to share the news. "Bringing in my birthday tomorrow with COVID19 catching up with me. Unforgettable birthday. It's scary to go through this but will be needing all your blessings to come through with this. Will be back soon full throttle," Ankola wrote on his Facebook and Instagram account. There has been a serious spike in COVID-19 cases in Maharashtra and in particular in Mumbai and Pune. SRH, RR and Punjab raise objection over IPL venues

IPL 2021 by Vijay Tagore • Published on Share Tweet The franchises are expecting a formal communication by BCCI over the venues for IPL 2021 by early next week © BCCI/IPL Rajasthan Royals, Punjab Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad have raised objection following the Board of Control for Cricket in India's decision to host the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League in only six venues, which includes Ahmedabad (which isn't one of the home grounds of any of the franchises). Cricbuzz recently reported that the BCCI is planning to stage the league in a phased cluster/caravan format in Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Delhi and Ahmedabad and has also kept the option of having games in Mumbai open. A brilliant defensive performance from Ivan Gonzalez and some crucial saves from Dheeraj Singh was enough for the Gaurs to get the point they needed. They were lucky not to concede late in the game and a good show from Hyderabad was not enough to stop Juan Ferrando’s men from qualifying for their fourth consecutive semifinals and extending their unbeaten run to 13 games. Hyderabad are still unbeaten in 2021 and extended their unbeaten run to 12 games, but they had to settle for fifth on the table. Playing without their main players was always going to be difficult for Hyderabad. They missed the services of their regular scorer Aridane Santana (fourth yellow) upfront and Chinglensana Singh (red card) in defence.
