Texas shook up the college football world on the second day of 2021 , firing Tom Herman and hiring former Alabama offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian as the program’s next head coach. It followed a 7-3 season for the Longhorns that was capped off with a win in the Alamo Bowl over Colorado days prior, but it wasn’t good enough for AD Chris Del Conte and Texas faithful. They want to reach new heights as a program that has not won a Big 12 Championship since 2009 under former head coach Mack Brown . In order to do that, the team they’ll have to remove from the top of the hierarchy is the Oklahoma Sooners. Sarkisian has brought some major juice to Austin in almost two months on the job. Last night, the Michigan Wolverines proved once again why they are the top dog in the Big Ten. The No. 3 ranked Wolverines beat the No. 9 ranked Iowa Hawkeyes by a score of 79-57. Michigan coach Juwan Howard has been lauded for his coaching efforts this season as the Wolverines are 17-1 on the season with just four regular-season games to go. Howard also has a legendary coach as his assistant, longtime Saint Joseph’s coach Phil Martelli . During a Twitter exchange on Friday morning, Martelli took the time to agree with a fan’s assessment of his role on the team. Jehan Daruvala grabs second position for Mumbai Falcons
After winning two out of the three races in Round 2 over the last two days, India’s top racer underlined his form by grabbing a Double Pole in the two qualifying sessions in the morning. This is his fourth consecutive podium finish over three nerve-wracking days. On Sunday, the last two races of the round will take place. The Mumbai Falcons duo of Jehan Daruvala and Kush Maini seemed to be in their elements as the action began. Jehan straightaway went to the top of the time sheet, on his first flying lap itself. His laptime of 1:53.399 earned him his third pole position of the Championship. Chovet, 0.190 slower, came in second while Alpine F1 Junior Guanyu Zhou from China took the third position. Jehan did well in the second qualifying session too, immediately going to the top of the time sheets to earn his second consecutive Pole position. Zhou and Chovet were second and third respectively.
