Former Denver Broncos and University of Florida quarterback Tim Tebow is engaged. The 31-year-old Heisman Trophy winner announced his engagement on Instagram to 23-year-old Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, a South Africa native and the 2017 Miss Universe. Tebow quarterbacked Florida to national championships during the 2006 and 2008 seasons; he continues to serve as an analyst for the SEC Network as he pursues a baseball career. He was drafted in 2010 by the Denver Broncos, where he played two seasons, and spent 2012 with the New York Jets. He failed to make the Patriots as a third-string quarterback in 2013, cut at the end of training camp after completing fewer than 40 percent of his passes in three exhibition games. Tebow similarly failed to make the Eagles in 2015, then signed a minor-league contract with the New York Mets a year later. … [Read more...] about Tim Tebow is engaged to Miss Universe

Denver Sports Omelette: President Trump loses signed Tim Tebow helmet amid charity allegations
President Donald J. Trump is being blitzed and he’ll have to face the pressure without a helmet — a Tim Tebow helmet. Trump agreed to shutter the Donald J. Trump Foundation on Tuesday — fallout from the New York State attorney general’s office alleging the President illegally used the foundation for personal and political benefit and, who’d have guessed, Tebow memorabilia is under center in the latest allegations against the commander and chief. The foundation has $1.75 million and additional assets to be liquidated to other charities at the discretion of New York Attorney General Barbara Underwood and a state judge, according to the Washington Post. An autographed helmet by the former Broncos quarterback is part of those “additional assets,” which include two large portraits of Trump. Trump used $12,000 of his foundation’s money at a 2012 auction to secure the Tebow lid. Why he wanted an autographed Tebow helmet is … [Read more...] about Denver Sports Omelette: President Trump loses signed Tim Tebow helmet amid charity allegations
Mets GM Brodie Van Wagenen: Tim Tebow to start season in Triple-A
New York Mets general manager Brodie Van Wagenen has stated that Tim Tebow will start the season with Triple-A Syracuse. Van Wagenen revealed Tebow’s immediate future in the Mets organization during an appearance Wednesday on WFAN. Perhaps even more intriguing, Van Wagenen suggests that if Tebow can continue his development at Triple-A and make significant strides, the football player-turned minor leaguer could end up on Mets manager Mickey Callaway’s big-league roster.“If Tim Tebow is the best offensive player in Triple-A at that point, he’s going to be in Mickey’s lineup,” Van Wagenen said, via the New York Daily News. The first-year general manager, it merits noting, previously served as Tebow's agent before joining the Mets organization. Before the regime change in the Mets’ front office, it had been expected that Tebow would return to the minors and continue his late-blooming professional baseball career. It certainly appears … [Read more...] about Mets GM Brodie Van Wagenen: Tim Tebow to start season in Triple-A

(Michael Reaves/Getty Images North America) BOCA RATON — With his second rushing touchdown on Saturday night, Florida Atlantic running back Devin Singletary passed former Florida quarterback Tim Tebow for the most rushing touchdowns by any player who attended a Florida FBS school. A true junior from Deerfield Beach, Singletary (American Heritage) scored a 44-yard touchdown late in the 4th quarter against Old Dominion. Not only was the touchdown Singletary’s 14th rushing touchdown of the season, but it was his 58th career touchdown, moving him past San Diego State’s Marshall Faulk (1991-93), Oklahoma’s Steve Owens (1967-69), and Tebow, who all ran for 57 touchdowns at the FBS level. Singletary’s first rushing touchdown on Saturday night was a … [Read more...] about BREAKING: FAU running back Devin Singletary passes Tim Tebow to become Florida’s all-time FBS rushing touchdowns leader
Mets expect Tim Tebow back in minor league system in 2019
Tim Tebow is expected to continue his minor league baseball career in 2019, according to New York Mets assistant general manager John Ricco. “I’m sure that’s his last impression of himself,” Ricco told Newsday’s Tim Healey. “I’d be surprised if he didn’t want to continue.” While Tebow has steadily ascended the ranks in the Mets’ farm system, his progression came to a halt this season with the Double-A Binghamton Rumble Ponies in late July due to a broken hamate bone in his right hand that required surgery. In 84 games leading up to the season-ending injury, Tebow slashed at .273/.336/.399 clip with six home runs. Certainly not eye-popping numbers, but given the late start to Tebow’s pursuit of a pro baseball career, not horrible stats, either. Further, Tebow batted .317/.348/.429 in June and July before his season ended, so there was worthwhile, in-season improvement. Tebow likely will never reach the majors as … [Read more...] about Mets expect Tim Tebow back in minor league system in 2019
