Rohit Sharma’s Fake Appeal to Ajinkya Rahane During 4th Test at Motera is Unmissable | WATCH VIDEO

· March 4, 2021 ·

During the opening day of the intense fourth Test, Rohit Sharma made everyone chuckle at Motera on Thursday after taking a catch. Well, here is what happened! Ravichandran Ashwin came round the wicket to Dan Lawrence with a leg slip in place and a slip stationed. Lawrence opted for the sweep but missed it completely as the ball popped up straight to Rohit. After taking the catch – knowing very well that it was not out – yet, Rohit went up in appeal. The twist is – he did not appeal to the umpire. Instead, he appealed to Rahane – who was at first slip. Here is what happened: Rohit’s fake appeal to Rahane #RohitSharma #INDvENG pic.twitter.com/2NZtbxCB8q Eh, evadra nuvvu (@Naniricci45) March 4, 2021 Earlier in the day, England opted to bat after winning the toss. Despite the pitch not playing the number of tricks it did during the opening day of the third Test at the same venue – England lost wickets at regular intervals. Local hero Axar Patel started off from where … [Read more...] about Rohit Sharma’s Fake Appeal to Ajinkya Rahane During 4th Test at Motera is Unmissable | WATCH VIDEO

Rishabh Pant’s Acrobatics Impress Virat Kohli During 4th Test at Motera | WATCH VIDEO

· March 4, 2021 ·

Rishabh Pant could look a little heavy but that is extremely deceptive and he has shown that time and again. Pant is certainly one of the most flexible Indian cricketers around. During the opening day of the fourth and final Test at Motera on Thursday, Pant did a kick-up – which is a difficult move. Indian skipper Virat Kohli – who was standing next to him and had seen Pant do it – seemed highly impressed. At the end of the video, Pant and Kohli have a laugh over it. Here is what Pant did: #TeamIndia when they are 1️⃣-0️⃣ down in a series… #Paytm #INDvENG @RishabhPant17 pic.twitter.com/AIqPFnpwGm Hotstar Canada (@hotstarcanada) March 4, 2021 In the last few months, Pant has evolved as a cricketer. From winning matches with the bat to taking stunning catches with the gloves and improving with every game. Pant would be expected to play a key role in the Test at Motera. Earlier in the day, England opted to bat after winning the toss. Despite the pitch not playing … [Read more...] about Rishabh Pant’s Acrobatics Impress Virat Kohli During 4th Test at Motera | WATCH VIDEO

India vs England, 4th Test: Axar, Ashwin Share Seven Wickets to Give Hosts The Upper Hand

· March 4, 2021 ·

India vs England 4th Test, Day 1: England’s batsmen lost the battle of both mind and skills in yet another shoddy performance to surrender the momentum to India with Axar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin calling the shots on the opening day of the fourth and final Test here on Thursday. After five innings, England crossed the 200-run mark but a total of 205 in 75.5 overs was certainly not what Joe Root had expected when he called it right at the toss on a day which would have ideally been best for batting. There was turn and bounce but the pitch was far from being a minefield that some of the England batsmen save Ben Stokes (55, 121 balls) made it out to be. For India, spinners Axar Patel (26-7-68-4), Ravichandran Ashwin (19.5-4-47-3) and Washington Sundar (7-1-14-1) toyed with the already messed up minds, clueless on how to deal with the conditions. Mohammed Siraj (14-2-45-2) also played his part to perfection with the semi-new and old ball, hurrying the batsmen with sheer pace as … [Read more...] about India vs England, 4th Test: Axar, Ashwin Share Seven Wickets to Give Hosts The Upper Hand

India vs England: Joe Root’s side bowled out for 205 on another disappointing day with the bat

· March 4, 2021 ·

England endured another disappointing outing with the bat in India, being bowled out for 205 on day one of the fourth Test in Ahmedabad, before a James Anderson strike with the ball briefly lifted spirits late on. The visitors were again undone by Axar Patel (4-68), as the left-arm spinner took his wicket tally to 22 for his three maiden Test appearances in the series, and this coming on a surface that didn't turn as much as the one used for the two-day third Test at the Narendra Modi Stadium last week. Ben Stokes (55) scored a 24th Test half-century, while Dan Lawrence (46), recalled to the side to strengthen the batting, did just that with some useful runs from No 7 in the order, but England never threatened to post a considerable first-innings score despite again having first use of the pitch after winning the toss. Fourth Test scorecard: India vs England Day One in Ahmedabad - as it happened Lawrence, along with Dom Bess, was one of two changes to the … [Read more...] about India vs England: Joe Root’s side bowled out for 205 on another disappointing day with the bat

India seize advantage after England’s lower order collapse

· April 4, 2021 ·

ENGLAND TOUR OF INDIA 2020-21 by Cricbuzz Staff • Published on Share Tweet Axar Patel bagged four wickets in England's first innings © BCCI On the eve of the final Test, Joe Root urged his batsmen to be brave and play with freedom. So when the England captain won the toss and chose to make first use of a fresh pitch, he would have hoped for more than 205 from his side. Ben Stokes made 55, Daniel Lawrence got 46 while Ollie Pope fought hard for his 29 and batted out 87 deliveries. Yet, at no stage did they threaten to put India under pressure. Axar Patel picked four wickets while R Ashwin got three. Mohammed Siraj was equally impressive as he accounted for Root and Jonny Bairstow. Zak Crawley and Dom Sibley made watchful starts but were clearly carrying scars from the previous game. Axar took just two balls to strike - as Sibley inside-edged a straight delivery back to his leg stump. Crawley, however, had taken his … [Read more...] about India seize advantage after England’s lower order collapse
